Lunchtime news has always used the jib - it's only of a weekend when the jib isn't used. That's why I thought it was strange. I haven't seen them doing that on weekday programme since June 2020.
I’m thinking Covid restrictions have come back into force at ITV News - the lunchtime, evening and now News at Ten have not been using the jib and are using static shows to open and close the programmes.
Emma Murphy just gave some live analysis of Ghislaine Maxwell's trial from New York right now on Claire Byrne Live on RTÉ One in Ireland.
Think News at Ten need to admit their new trailer style generally isn't working - got far more info from the very brief snippet with Julie after I'm a Celeb than the main trailer tonight which seemed quite confusing.

I'm just surmising here but I wonder if the sudden changes to camera use have something to do with the fact that their control room, PCR1, has been decommissioned for an equipment refit? ITV News is going to be in PCR2 until their usual control room is up and running again in the New Year. Maybe they don't have all the usual capabilities in PCR2?
Pretty sure that is often the case at the weekend anyway. I thought that only the weekday Evening News and News at Ten bulletins they use the jib. TBH apart from a handful of people here not many would notice the difference anyway.

At the weekend they usually use a discreet DVE move to make it look ‘jib like’.

Anyone else in the West Country area noticed there was no audio at the beginning of tonight's bulletin?
Edit: they're still having a mare as far as audio is concerned!
