Does anyone know who’s presenting this afternoon’s ITV Lunchtime News?
Can’t say I recognise the chap & he didn’t get an introduction, there was no name check in the VO introduction (is that the norm for lunchtime!?)

It's Geraint Vincent. He's not exactly new so should have a v/o really.
Strange that he wasn't namechecked at the start of the lunchtime news, when he is of a weekend when he presents.
feel sad i wasn't available to record the lunchtime news!
Do we know if there are any design updates on the cards anytime soon? Quite mad, really, to think that the current look has been running for almost 9 years. Granted, the graphics still look good (IMO anyway) but I think the set could maybe do with sprucing up - even if they just changed the backdrop and left everything else the same, I reckon it would be a big improvement. (And would a return to the London skyline backdrop be too much to ask for News at Ten? Pretty please?

)
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a refresh of some sort early next year with changes on the cards for BBC News. At the moment an 8 year old studio and look still looks quite fresh when your main rivals is even older, but if the BBC get theirs right then ITV's will suddenly begin to look somewhat dated.
Although there is an argument it only needs evolution rather than revolution considering the last couple of revamps have been quite drastic departures from the look they're replacing I wouldn't be surprised if they had something more interesting up their sleeves, though I suspect any changes to the regions will be within their current sets - although I think for the earlier regional sets at least those have been used for longer than the previous generic set.
I agree the set could do with changing, but the look and feel is still very strong despite it approaching to be 9 years old!
The only amendment to the set was the addition of the black panel to the desk which was done just days into the new look. Apart from some minor alterations to some of the VR stuff, that’s been it. But it’s definitely been ITV News’s strongest look in quite some time.
I can guarantee that a few days after the BBC unveil their new look, there will be calls for a new ITV News look here with people declaring it outdated, tired etc
Alter the regional news titles a bit. keep the set the same away it is. update the astons. and that’s it

It's not outdated nor tired, if the BBC keeps using David Lowe's pips since 1999 then surely ITV can keep using this look for God knows when......even though I'd love if News at Ten goes back to the 2008 look, it was really an awesome intro and it's a crime that it was used only for a year, I wonder why they ditched it

It was in reaction (possibly an overreaction given what replaced it) that NaT and ITV News in general were too London-centric, I believe.

Then what an utter shame, I never understood these feelings of London-centricity to be honest

You live in the London region - that'll be why you don't understand.
And yet no one levies the London-centric thing at GMB with its backdrop.
