Because the KPM album Peaktime TV 2 was released in 2000 (in fact Discogs says 1999)

I've no idea why it's been tagged under that album as it was obviously made many years afterwards. I'm not sure why you're taking the 2000 copyright date as fact - there's a lot of incorrect dates on music streaming services.

Exactly - couldn't have put it better myself. The album was released in 1999/2000, and obviously tracks have been continually added to it ever since. The 2008 News at Ten theme is on there - do people really think "ooh, that was composed in 2000, ready for when ITV revive News at Ten for the second time in 2008"? No. Not possible. Don't take everything so literally - your lesson for today.
Yes, the original Peaktime TV 2 album was released in c.2000 but KPM have continually added related tracks to it online.
To satisfy the discussion, I can provide some conclusive dates for the current ITV News theme. They were mastered on 15th November 2012 at 14:28 at Curtis Schwartz Studio. A further CD featuring some updated tracks was subsequently delivered to ITN on 7th January 2013. The music was first used on air on 14th January 2013.
Sorry if this is all a bit too geeky, even for TV Live Forum. Thought it might help to clear up the discussion once and for all! Also, I can't say how I know these dates, I just do

I'm not one to criticise fashion choices but Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the Wee Donkey that is horrendous!!
Anyone know what's happened to Mary Nightingale? She was off for a week, came back for 2 days and then hasn't been seen again for nearly 3 weeks...
She’ll be back in September I reckon

Gamal has been a great asset to Granada Reports since he joined in January and appears to have settled in really well.
i have it
Thank You. I managed to see some of it as I still had it on Sky Q.

It's not uncommon for library listings to add newer tracks to an existing album - the original KPM 402 track listing. Usually within 1/2 months of it going on air with ITV it gets added to the 'CD'. This happened with the Election 2010 music, 2013 music and the NaT music.
Thanks for the informative reply as well. The exact time is up there as one of the geekiest, pointless but nonetheless interesting nuggets of information shared on this forum or the blue place.
I've always liked Chris on the Lunchtime News, so glad to see him on the Evening News too. Am I right in saying Charlene presenter her first NaT a few weeks ago?

Charlene has presented NaT quite a few times since 2017…. Out of the “regular” weekday presenters Lucrezia is one of the only not to until today - not sure if Mary has since Tom took over though.
No, I think Mary stopped covering as part of the fall out of bringing Tom in, although with Julie and Rageh she'd rarely need to anyway.
