There will be no ceasefire, because Fox News has successfully demonized CNN in the minds of their own audience, that anytime someone says anything to a right winger that they don't like, the pre-programmed response is something along the lines of "Stop getting your news from CNN!".

Fox News whole raison d'etre is to attack other media. He's stupid if he things they will ever stop doing that.

I think it means a more a ceasefire where CNN lets off, more than a two-sided ceasefire, which we both know that Tucker, Hannity, the Five, Fox and Friends etc. won't ever stop that, but in that CNN will stop doing it , which I think is fine, CNN should be focused on doing news and talking about what Fox News Channel is doing is a very MSNBC thing, or talking about other networks is a very Fox News thing to do.

Absolutely spot on the money.

Reliable Sources was a brilliant show on CNN before Stelter got his grubby mitts on it. I think it should survive, but with a non-partisan host at the helm.
Chris Licht looks like a smart, reasonable man who wants to return CNN to news and stop the silly stunts and desperate cries for attention. The first step should be FIRING Stelter and his puppet Darcy. This duo belongs on National Enquire, not a respectable news channel.

Absolutely right. Stelter and Lemon should be the first to go in my opinion.

It would be nice if it went back to being a real "Critical look at the media" like it was during the Kurtz days, and not just Fox News is bad : the show, it would also be kind of nice if they did a crictal look at their own network, talking about mistakes they've made when they make them, expanding on why they covered this story and not different story etc. like an old fashion newspaper ombudsman but on the air, show that CNN is willing to listen to valid criticism as much as looking at other operations. At the very least return it too what it was before Stetler, and take it off CNN International.
Media journalism is the laziest form of journalism, and Brian Stelter has the cushiest gig of all "media journalists." He's never been an actual journalist in any real capacity. He was maybe fine as a blogger at TV Newser a decade ago, and I suppose he was originally not a terrible pick for Reliable Sources as Howard Kurtz was really past his prime even then, but that's a pretty low bar. It seems like he now pops up every five minutes to pontificate about the pillars of journalism as if he's speaking from authority. Sorry, but writing a book about the gossip at the Today Show isn't Watergate. I really hope his time at CNN comes to an end.

They really should just cancel Reliable Sources. It was maybe a novel concept 30 years ago, but it's such a saturated market now, and the show offers nothing new. They either should do it right and look toward Al Jazeera's Listening Post or the old International Correspondents with Fionnuala Sweeney for inspiration, or they shouldn't do it at all.
Unfortunately when Howard Kurtz when over to FNC in 2013 for some odd reason he went off the deep end and turned into someone completely unrecognizable. I dont think media critic on a broadcast network should be an employee of said network. Id rather they'd have someone such as newspaper critic host a programme like that, not sure how that would work. But at least it puts some distance between said network and the critique's shared. A true impartial person. Oh well. THose days are over.
Chris Licht coming in can't be good news for the likes of Jim Acosta, Don Lemon, Brian Stelter and whatever opinionated host wants to take over the 9pm slot. Can't see Smerconish's show staying either, feels like a show that is out of place on a Chris Licht vision of CNN. I think the key to how the channel will change is who takes that 9pm slot. If it's more of a straight news anchor like daytime normally is then it's a sign of a leave behind of the past though I struggle to see who can take over that 9pm slot at the moment.

Anderson seems likey the obvious choice but he has become a das again and I'm not sure he wants be mixing 10 hours of AC360, his CNN+ shows and parenting all at the same time whilst the likes of Laura Cotes and Jim Acosta probably would have passed the smell test had Zucker remained but has probably little chance as well now.
Michael Holmes has announced that he's coming back to Atlanta after two weeks of anchoring the overnight newscast on CNN/CNNI from Lviv, and he will be replaced by Hala Gorani.
Someone having IT trouble at CNN? Keep heating the Windows "bing" noise during Connect The World.
Christina Macfarlane is currently substituting on Hala Gorani Tonight, while Hala is presenting overnights in Lviv.
So good to see the original main desk set up used for the show. The live shot of the street on the left side was an especially nice touch. Just makes you realize how bad that stool set up they've been using since returning to studio is.

Been really impressed with the coverage on CNN with the war in Ukraine however they really need to sort out the ad breaks on the international feed. Back to back fillers makes you feel you have been put on hold for three minutes.
I notice Don Lemon Tonight is on an hour earlier than usual. It began at 2am in the morning rather than at 3am.

The clocks changed in North America on Sunday. It'll revert back to 3am in two weeks time when we change ours.
