I think John Berman is the glue that holds New Day together. Camerota and Blackwell seems to have some good chemistry, but I rarely since I don't watch CNN US that much.

I’ve been waiting all day for this and still missed it!

I can't fault the bulletin content, but compared to pre-Covid, the shots were more restrictive bar the same balcony shot used on CNN Newsroom at the end.

And World Sport is back after it, I kind of wish they would have "The Global Brief" at like 10pm, 11pm, 12am, GMT as a top of the hour half hour news programme, and World Sport after it each half hour.

So great to have Bianca back. She is the future of CNNI and it's a shame she's been sidelined for the last year and a half, for obvious reasons.

The name change of The Brief is kind of an aknowledgement that international programming is not coming back at previous levels, right?

It seems so far that they returned essentially everything on weekdays minus Your World Today and the half hour "News Room" before World Sport at 1pm GMT.

Echo what others have said - great to have The Brief back and from the bits I saw it’s still the same high standard it was before and Bianca is excellent as ever.

It’s a shame maybe to not have a second edition of it but I guess a strong 30 minute bulletin of content is better than stretching out material or including obvious filler.

I guess the test is if The Brief actually airs most of the time and isn’t pre-empted for Domestic the way that often happened pre-pandemic

I assume that’s our lot now and to be fair other than YWT on weekdays everything that was there before is now back.
The channel just essentially shuts down at weekends though (other than during US overnights)and seems to have totally given up on the Asia pacific region as primetime hours there are basically US simulcasts.

However in One World, Connect The World and The Brief there’s some excellent global news shows and still great anchors across the schedule.

It is a shame that there’s no Asian-South Pacific breakfast or evening programmes on the current schedule. Anchors like Michael Holmes, Kristie Lu Stout, Anna Coren, Amara Walker, and Cyril Vanier are still on the roster and you’d think crews would be available in London before World Sport at 8:30AM ET and in Atlanta after World Sport at 5:30PM ET to fill these gaps.

Also while I get why you do have to slightly question the value of covering a climate summit by jetting in several of your domestic anchors rather than just using the multiple anchors from London. The likes of Hala, Scott Maclean etc are fairly well known to US viewers.

Pre Covid Max Foster hosted a half hour edition of Newsroom at 4am ET to start with but then at 8am ET instead. He also used to do CNN Talk at noon a few years back but it was axed.

CNN have slightly given up on that Asia Pacific region. If they really wanted to do a primetime or Early morning bulletin aimed to that region (even if it were a bog standard CNN Newsroom edition here and there) there’s the anchors to do so as Anna Coren, Robyn Curnow, Kristie, Lynda Kinkade and Cyril have all anchored programmes in the past but don’t have a fixed slot currently. Though maybe some of them may prefer their current arrangements.

"Hala and Scott who?" The average domestic viewer does not know who they are, and why would they? They are not the faces of CNN US, so: no, I would not want them to anchor.
