It looks to me like they’ve stopped wearing face coverings, presumably assuming the 21st June had gone ahead when they filmed the episodes weeks ago

Looks like ITV3 have skipped an episode by mistake (?) at 2:50pm today. This one: https://coronationstreet.fandom.com/wiki...mber_1998)

Watching tomorrow's episode on the ITV Hub, there's a scene which is meant to be outside Izzy's house, but is clearly just the yard of the Rovers (barely) redressed and very tightly shot. Will be a very good thing once location shoots can resume rather than everything clearly being awkwardly shoved into a corner of the outdoor set.

It was missing in EPG listings too, so it wasn't by mistake. Can't understand why it was skipped though, there doesn't seem to be anything in the episode that's particularly problematic.

I think the Seb/Nina scenes were filmed near the river around the back of the Corrie studios. I also noticed the scene outside of Izzys flat and thought it seemed familiar, like it was filmed somewhere on the Corrie set!

I could be wrong but i think reason yesterdays first episode of Classic Corrie was dropped was because it contained scenes of Greg shouting at Sophie and also Jim having a go at Steve. That's the only reason I can see why it would be dropped. They could have at least put the episode on the hub for people to watch if they wanted to but i checked and it isnt on there. If it was good enough to go out at 7.30pm in 1998 they could at least put it on the ITV hub!

I will be happy when ITV stop putting the full week of episodes on the hub on a Monday, although i agree it was a good idea when the football was on I wouldn't like it to happen long term. ITV also wouldn't want this to happen regularly either I imagine as it may impact on viewing figures and advert revenue. Fine when the football is on as chances are the episodes would be broadcast against the football on BBC1 anyway but under normal circumstances I dont think it needs to happen.

Though it's not as if we haven't had lots of similar scenes on these repeats, and if they were a problem, surely they could just have edited the scenes out rather than cut the whole episode.

Someone on Digitalspy posted a link to download the episode and it looks like it's from an ITV archive copy, not an off-air VHS, so it's not missing (in fact it looks like a copy that's been edited for ITV3 broadcast, with the Cadbury's sponsorship edited out, but the endcap retained), though an episode of a major soap from 1998 being missing would be very odd- especially as there's only a single missing episode in the archives from the 60 and 70s compared to the archival state of many other shows from that era.

Yes its very strange. Unless there was so much they wanted to edit it was easier from a timing point of view to just drop the entire episode. Im sure there is far worse to come in the 2000s than Greg shouting at Sophie!

I have noticed the layout of the Corner Shop flat has suddenly changed since we have been seeing it more in recent weeks. There was a long gap between us seeing the flat as when Bill lived there we didnt see it and hardly saw it when Chris lived there. The kitchen appears to be in the wrong place to where it was before and doesnt fit in with how it looks on the outside. Of course in modern Corrie its changed again but the kitchen area seems to be in the right place at the back of the flat to where it was supposed to be in the 1970s/80s when we saw it.

There was a period where Ken was living there where the kitchen should have been sticking out hanging over the middle of the street, the layout of that flat never makes sense. It's like the rovers back room (or the pre-1986 rovers in general) for not fitting into the building it's in.

I believe that Izzy’s back yard was shot in what is the back yard to Dev’s shop. It was previously dressed as the Bistro back yard.

If Izzy still lives at 28 Grayling Street, tonight’s yard doesn’t match the style of property it is.

I see ITV bought the soaps forward an hour tonight from their initial "alternative schedule", catching our PVR out with it deciding to record Doc Martin instead.

TBH surprised they didn't schedule Corrie for Thursday regardless of which semi they aired.

The skipped episode has appeared on the ITV Hub.

Another thing about the ITV3 episodes, they made a big deal of Alec getting a big widescreen TV in the Rovers... then after the world cup was over it just vanished.

I guess you could argue with Alec being so stingy he took it back to the shop for a the 30 day money back guarantee after the world cup was over

Or maybe he just hired it for a month from Granada Rentals. Reckon he had staff discount.

Makes you wonder if skipping it was a mistake, but the fact it wasn't listed in the schedules seems to suggest otherwise, whereas the past episodes of Corrie and Emmerdale that were skipped were listed in the schedules (and in both those cases they messed up the surrounding episodes too which makes it more clear they were mistakes- in the case of Corrie they showed the two following episodes in the wrong order, and with Emmerdale they showed the preceeding episode twice).

Either way, good it's ended up on the hub (the skipped Emmerdale did too).
