I think the fact that it lasted 10 years was a testament to its good design and flexibility.

I read that thinking it was the new set, always thought B was a bit of a waste of space. Basically a better version of the very empty barco sets in TVC

Exactly!
Do we know exactly how long this update has taken? I can't recall when it began.

It will now use automated cameras (newer and hopefully more reliable than Studio E)

Also remained in fairly good shape right to the end, which isn't something that could be said about TC7's Barco set or the N8 newsroom set - which both were much more visibly worn and torn in 2013. And they were only in SD!

I don't really see how the 2012 set in Studio B was a waste of space, at least not in any sense other than all circular sets wasting some space. The set - particuarly the 'hard' end - goes right to the edge of the usable floor space.

So, is Monday definitely confirmed as the launch date for the 6 & 10 from studio B? If so it's strange to think it's the last time they will come from E tonight, after 9 and a bit years.

I think there will be a new look on Monday, Huw is presenting tonight and I guess he's presenting so that he hosts the final edition of the 6 and 10 from Studio E.
Edit: Wrong Studio

Huw has done Sundays in recent months as well.

Studio B isn't yet broadcasting. Surely the final broadcast of the 6/10 will be from Studio E on Sunday.

I think Reeta is doing the 10.

I’m still amazed those brown things when lit up becomes any colour you want it’s genius.

It's a shame there isn't a new corporate look to match the rest of the BBC yet.
But there probably will be one in the near future.

Likely when the News Channel and World News merge.
