It is possible that the National News may have a new look before the rest of BBC News' output gets refreshed.
With the Nationals in their own studio, conformity wont be as necessary in the short term.

It happened in 1999 BBC Nationals got the Cream Look in May of that year first with the new studio replacing the old individual looks.
Then the regionals Rolled-out with the their Cream look replacing individual looks which were more independent form national news.
Then In October of that year that's when BBC News 24 got the the cream look with new studios replacing the flags.
Then in 2000 in April of that year BBC World got a similar cream style look and new studios replacing a flag style look.
then in September of that year last but not least Breakfast news was relaunched as BBC Breakfast with its new studio.
God I hope the updated Studio B isn’t just three flat LED walls, with a round desk and a dodgy main anchor shot of a blurry newsroom. Would be utterly pointless to virtually recreate the view of where they are moving from!
I do wonder if they’d have been better off renovating E instead - there’s a photo somewhere of the studio completely empty, and it actually works pretty well as a square space. The combination of LED walls and newsroom view would actually look pretty nice IMO. Without needing to lose loads of space to make the studio round, you’d probably have room for a small secondary area as well.
Whichever way, the overall visual feel of BBC News is desperately due an update, just something that’s fresh or original.
Judging by the colour scheme of the app I'm expecting black and red to feature heavily.
I'm hoping at least for a desk combination in the shape of the new icon.

I've mentioned before that one approach would be to move the News channel into B temporarily alongside the nationals. Move World News to E whilst C is refitted (its the second oldest studio/set). Move World News back to C and then, finally, refit E. News channel would then move back to E.

Can you say whether the cameras will appear onscreen as they do currently? I think it's one of the best things about Studio E & C seeing the cameras all move together in shot.
All I know is that no camera ops are being scheduled to work in the new studio, and the reason stated is that there is no longer room for manual peds due to the tracks.
I have heard on the grapevine that a monolithic touchscreen is a key feature.

The local elections thread makes me wonder if that could be the first appearance of the new set? It would be strange to launch it, then have to go back to E for a bit as B is needed for the elections.
