It allows the NC to use E all day without having to move to allow for rehearsals of the Six and Ten, while the One, Six and Ten will once again have a studio used wholly for BBC One bulletins.
It's a positive move for both the news channel and network bulletins.

Also it's high time for a refresh and the sets have been in place for almost a decade. It makes a great deal of sense to use the currently mothballed Studio B for the national bulletins in a new set with new technology.

Exactly. Not exactly a new idea for when the news gets a new set to move them from one studio to another.

If they are having new robotic cameras fitted in Studio B; Will they be using new 4K ready technology or plain old HD?
Also what are the plans for the news desk. Is it going to be styled in 2013 NBH look or will it be something that is completely different.

I wonder if work has started on the new branding coming in the Spring. If the design of Studio B is being done to match this new branding, then will it mean set changes in the other studios?
The new branding may not be massively different (same red colour, no need to change circular desks etc - which would allow the existing set designs to be re-lit or minimal updates like Higher quality screens or Newsroom lighting and painting changes for Studio E

I wonder what they’ll do with studio E after the national news comes from studio B?

The news channel will stay there.

News channel isn’t moving.
I do wonder if the biggest changes will be at the weekend. In theory if staffed the news channel could continue to broadcast its own service, whilst BBC1 got it own bulletins. Therefore there could be no 10 minutes of filler until BBC1 joins for a bulletin if they can’t start on the hour or 30 minutes past.

Perhaps he meant what they’ll do with the set in Studio E? If there any radical changes to the style of set for the bulletins in B, then this needs reflecting in the set for the channel in E, and World in C.

How much progress has been done with the new studios in Studio B? I would assume that we have finished the Christmas holidays the teams of people who are in charge of getting the new sets in place are going to come back soon.

Spring is the date so I think they might’ve started?. Robotic cameras are being installed. Then just a desk and chair
