I thought the logo was changing in April then the refit would appear next month but so far nothing has happened on both counts.

Interestingly for what are seemingly 'as constructed' plans, there are quite a few differences between that and the actual set.

- The columns are taller in the actual set and the 'grill' bit behind the soft area is shorter.
- The 'scenic' wall in the performance area and faux-catwalk in the soft area both were only constructed with four segments rather than five.
- The frosted glass 'safety' rail lightbox in the hard area seems to extend into the catwalk. The catwalk is also differently built at the other end.
- A piece of frosted perspex above the LED screens in the soft area was not built and the bar table never used. The two divider panels were initially used for Sunday Politics, but later disappeared.
- The painted floor circles of different shades of grey were also clearly dropped.

Could the touchscreen be for a relaunched Outside Source going back to the original format?

Looks like they were still working on the lights in Studio B yesterday according to Chris Cook’s Insta so it’s still some time off launch!

Or maybe they were just altering some stuff and the rest of the studio is ready? That picture doesn't really give much off in terms of progress of the studio.

A scissor lift is just one way to reach the ceiling…

Bit of a stupid question. Considering how far down Studio B is. How did this device get down there? Sorry to be a pain.

Ditching the desk for a cherry picker at least shows some innovation.

Well I would have thought they’d have a lift for scenery etc.

Once the set build is complete and any works to the studio structure is done. How many weeks of rehearsals do we expect them to go through?

I’d have thought the most direct route to Studio B would be bumping it down the spiral staircase

You'd have thought there would be a goods lift.

Broadcasting House London has a loading bay. So I guess somewhere there is a lift to take the new set and cherry picker down to studio B.

I like the suggestion on Twitter that the new News icon could be recreated in three big LED screens a la Central Square foyer set.

I had a sneak preview of the new set recently and it's looking very nice. All I'll say is that it all looks very familiar, just in a different layout and a bigger scale.

I think it'll get a positive reaction even though its not very radical in terms of branding
