Speaking of the plans to take Ici to France 3, it’s sadly the death knell for their history. They are dropping two well known brands which are well know to the public, and do respectable audience figures which are very close to those of TF1 and France 2 at the slot. The 19/20 has been on air since 1986, when then FR3 dropped the Francis Lai brand identity and sound to do away their image of “cinema channel” and increase its reliance on the regional content; the 12/13 began as 12h45 in 1990 (when FR3 extended its hours on weekdays) and was renamed 12/13 shortly after the France Télévision rebranding in 1992. For a time in the 2000s, it was even named 12/14, as the show tried to offer an additional local slot for features and lighter fare; shortly after the launch of French DTT and the mass apparition of news channels, it was reverted to 12/13.

I don’t mind the idea of doing composite regional newscasts (à la the ill-fated Scottish Six), but the problem is how much will be eventually shared between each region, leading to confusion. Their plans are for each region to offer its own service with different orders on local and national issues, as well as making content appropriate for each region (in paywall articles in Le Figaro and Le Monde, they mentioned how could they treat the Dolomites tragedy, with the Paris IDF grand région taking it as an environmental report, whilst the Grenoble region would prioritise it due to its geographical proximity).

Additionally, the plans could get a bit no-no from the unions; earlier today, the France TV NUJ rejected the changes accusing an “ultimate treason”, and denounced a transition to “low-cost journalism”, as the plans are also to reduce the time for news to 90 minutes daily (30 minutes at midday and 60 minutes in the evening). Given how Delphine Ernotte’s plans for FTV have been received by the unions, industrial action is widely expected in the months to come.

Another thing DamC didn’t mention… the daily Des Chiffres et des Lettres will be replaced by another new game show, produced by Effervescence and hosted by Cyril Féraud, Duels en famille, which will be similar to the legendary show from Guy Lux, Les Jeux de 20 heures, which will feature contestants from the regions. I’m surprised why they chose once again Cyril Féraud, as FTV doesn’t usually have a kind of favoritism for any presenters, and this behaviour is nearing that of TF1 with Arthur, Jean-Pierre Foucault, Karine Ferri… (in the process underutilising other people like Camille Combal and Nikos Aliagas). Féraud would have now Slam, Grand Slam, La carte aux trésors, Duels en famille and his special shows…

Is Duels en Famile the Family Fortunes format?

I thought Alexia Mayer might stay on 20H in the slot which Garance Pardigon does on the bulletin at the end, but it seems they've side-lined her over to LCI. A massive shame.

C'est Canteloup seems to be a dumping ground for presenters on their way out. They clearly didn't know what to do with Helene on LCI, so a season or two with Nicolas Canteloup to see out her contract. I loved Alessandra Sublet on that show as there was genuine chemistry between her and Nicolas.

Good to see Julie Hammett staying on for another year, but like Mayer, woefully underused.

It's frustrating that France 3 are going down the route of having a handful of 'names' to presenter various shows. Don't get me wrong I like Cyril Féraud and is excellent at the numerous formats he presents, but I'd like to see other game show hosts get a look in.

And staying with news channels... It turns out Patricia Loison is staying with Franceinfo TV, as she has been assigned a new 18h slot focusing on interviews with newsmakers. Alexandra Uzan's new late evening show will be divided in two: a standard news hour at 22h, plus the existing 23h slot. Samuel Étienne (the highlight of the season), Axel de Tarlé, Michel Montpontet, Patrice Romedenne, Louis Laforge and others will remain in the channel.

In other rentrée news focusing on France Télévisions:

• Michel Drucker's successors at France 2 has been announced: Frédéric Lopez will present a new show reminiscent of his Rendez-vous en terre inconnue; the show will be named Un dimanche à la campagne; additionally, comedian Jarry (whose Big Show stays in prime time) has been tapped to host Rendez-vous chez Jarry (working title), which will involve Jarry welcoming French social media influencers for interviews and challenges.
  
• François Busnel's successor at La grande libraire has been announced: Brut cultural reporter Augustin Trapenard; additionally, C Politique will be presented by American politics specialist Thomas Snegaroff, which had been hitherto chroniqueur in the debate show; he will replace Karim Rissouli, who refocuses his efforts on C ce soir.
  
• Okoo will gain a special edition on Wednesdays (mid-week break for French schools) on France 4, Okoo-koo, the show will be presented by four children, signing a comeback for the long children's shows aired in the 90s on that particular break.
  
• France 2's big bet for this rentrée is the revival of MasterChef France, previously aired on TF1 between 2010 and 2015 (the final season was burned off to NT1 due to low ratings). The show will be presented by Agathe Lecaron (La Maison des Maternelles), with Yves Camdeborde, Thierry Marx et Georgiana Vi serving as mentors and judges; Nagui will serve as executive producer through Air Productions, which will co-produce the show alongside EndemolShine France (both members of Banijay). The other big prime time show is being hosted by Laurence Boccollini, an adaptation of Portuguese format D'Improviso, Sketch Story.
  
• Saturday evening show On est en direct is being reformatted as On ne peut plus rien dire, still focusing on culture and humour, however, it will become a pre-recorded chat show. Léa Salamé will present the reformatted show, which will have an arena-like studio.
  
• In another unique idea to offer diversity to the programming, France 2 will air a weekly format where politicians and personalities will be interviewed by autistic journalists and reporters from autistic-led newspaper Le Papotin. The show, Les rencontres du Papotin, will air on prime time.
  
• Laurent Ruquier will get two new shows for prime time: on Saturdays, Tout nous fait chanter, which will be a mix of comedy panel shows with N'oubliez pas les paroles !; the other, still on production planning, Aujourd'hui comme hier, focuses on history and events.
  
• Djamel Mazi is bringing back global journalism to France 2 with Border Line, which will remind of Un oeil sur la planète. The show will air on the second prime time.
  
• The new media show DamC mentioned will replace C à dire ?!, with Mélanie Taravant presenting. It will serve as a bridge between C dans l'air (which will expand to 17h30) and C à vous, therefore, being named C médiatique. The show will even be produced by the company who made Médias le mag, Jara Production.

Is Duels en Famile the Family Fortunes format?

Nope. The Family Fortunes format is known in France as Une famille en or, which airs on TF1. This is an original format from an affiliate of the Effervescence production company, directly controlled by Féraud. The show is reminiscent to Les Jeux de 20 Heures, one of the shows created by Guy Lux's production company, created by an associate, Jacques Solness.

Patricia Loison was back on Franceinfo's 23h on Monday, so hasn't quiet finished presenting that bulletin yet.

And on Thursday, just after connecting with France 2 for the Paris fireworks, Patricia Loison said goodbye for the season. Speaking of 14 July:

• An unexpected interview from President Macron extended TF1 and France 2's coverage of the military parade: in an agreement which dates back to the demerger of the ORTF, TF1's Anne-Claude Coudray and France 2's Caroline Roux interviewed Macron in his first post-reelection interview; this situation caused both channel's 13H newscasts to be preempted (both channels went to pubs and filler between both programmes) in the last minute and caused France Télévisions' coverage of the 12th period of the Tour de France to be bumped to France 3 for the first hour; this move boosted the audience figures from the parade, assembling 4.05 million viewers (28.3%) on TF1 and 2.61 million on France 2 (18,2%).
  
• During the parade itself, TF1's coverage had a record-breaking audience of 4,3 million people (40%), its second biggest audience since the TNT transition; France 2 had 3.6 million (33%), its biggest share since 2010. In total, TF1 assembled 2,31 million viewers (33.7%) and France 2 2,08 million (30.2%).

• Summer mode has started this week on most TV channels: since Friday, Audrey Crespo-Mara is doing TF1's weekend news, and Julien Arnaud is doing the 20h since at least Thursday. Most news channels have also went to it, particularly LCI, which has moved all shows to its secondary SD-only studio.
  
• Jean-Marc Morandini's move to the Canal+ Group has been confirmed: their FTA channel C8 is airing its own production Retrouvailles starting this season.
  
• Renaud Le Van Kim's media platform Brut is reorganising its content to focus exclusively on editorial issues: to achieve this, it is launching a single website that will merge the Brut, Brut.Live and BrutX platforms; the latter will now focus on documentaries and non-fiction content, dropping its existing series provision; it will also downsize its US and India offices.
  
• Arte's 28 minutes is changing its format: from September, the show will have double presentation, with RTL's Benjamin Sportouch joining Elisabeth Quin as co-host.
  
• France 2's Y'a pas d'erreur ? has been suddenly axed even with its good audience figures (it airs on Saturday mornings, where there is few competition from other channels) and increasing shares weekly. The decision was done due to the budget shortfalls which are affecting other shows on the broadcaster.
  
• RMC/RMC Story's Apolline Matin is losing its newsreader, Céline Kallmann, who moves to BFM TV's podcasts factory to present a daily morning podcast; she will be replaced by Nicolas Poincaré, better known for its work at Europe 1 and France 2's Complément d'enquête; he is already a member of the programme, hosting a daily segment on the day's newsmaker and standing in for Apolline de Malherbe during her absences and/or the summer break.

Marguerite Dumont (currently at BFM Paris-IDF's Bonsoir Ile-de-France) will be replacing Céline Kallmann. Nicolas Poincaré is just covering for Apolline de Malherbe for summer.

With regards to LCI, it's a little hit and miss. Sometimes its the SD studio but for instance the main studio was in use for Darius Rochebin's show over the weekend.

Talking of the BFM Régions, how does the weekend editions of IDF Île-de-france week-end work? It seems they get Gabrielle Marie Lourenço to come in to record a segment of around 12-15 minutes and them schedule filler around it such as IDF Découverte, Ariane a testé and Paris Go !

Yep that's about it. Same on the other regional channels. Recorded in-vision newscast replayed between 8am and 1pm with filler from 15/45 past the hour and [Paris/Lyon/etc...] Express the rest of the day.

Well, we know the Radio France tv studio for news headlines on Franceinfo is Studio 221.

Some news from at ARCOM hearing regarding the Altice bid to take over two channels due to the TF1-M6 merger.
- channel 11 (currently TFX) will become a generalist channel anchored in "reality" and "news". It will "improve the daily life of the French by promoting solutions". Entertainment, magazine programs, fiction but not reality TV. There will be one primetime slot per week (movie on Chernobyl given as an example).
- channel 22 (currently 6ter) will become something the entire family can watch together. Focusing on family well-being.

So no true crime channel as rumoured.
