Moving back to Télématin, French TV magazine Télé-Loisirs has interviewed the show's executive producer, Ophélie Radureau-Viaene, about the ongoing changes coming to the new seven-day programme on Monday. The format, as it was expected, is being transformed into a more news-led show, without leaving behind the fluff Télématin is well-known for. The schedule will now feature the presenters and the feature segment hosts from the start, with a less formal and mostly unscripted approach, and segments will be scheduled at very precise times, in a style inspired by French morning radio shows.
The news updates, led by Johanna Ghiglia, will be staying, as well as Caroline Roux's 4 Vérités, which is being extended in duration, and the fluff segments from Sylvie Adigard, Loïc Ballet, Karine Teyssandier, Olivia de Lamberterie and Alex Jaffray. The magazine part will be more news-focused, and content will be selected "in which the news will be long or as short as the news dictates".
The show will also include new segments as part of their transformation. C dans l'air's Axel de Tarlé will present a new personal finance segment, and France Inter comedian Alex Vizorek will present a twice-weekly satire capsule. There are plans to introduce new health, education and media watch segments. At 08:15, Thomas Sotto will grill politicians in an additional talk segment, set to rivalise Jean-Jacques Bourdin's interview in the same timeslot. In the final half hour of the show, there will an entertainment interview and musical performances from time to time. The weekend shows will be lighter, featuring long-form reports and more fluff, including on-site home and garden demonstrations and live sport interviews with coaches. Radureau-Viaene has also confirmed the new set will feature a variety of positions, including a living room area and a performance area, as well as new graphics.

Just less than an hour left (at the time of the publication of this post) to kickoff the new TV season, with both Télématin and BFM TV on the radar, the first, with its new news-focused format, the latter, with big scheduling changes, including the return of Pascale de la Tour du Pin to front its own new midday tranche, and the arrival of Yves Calvi and Natacha Polony, as well as Pauline Pioche replacing Sophie Hébrard-Ficaja as co-anchor of the first part of Première édition.
CNews will also turn back to (almost) normal mode today, except for the controversial Face à l’info show. Christine Kelly and Éric Zemmour will take an extra week of holiday, with Thomas Lequertier covering during next week. He will also host an additional pundit show on weekends with conservative commentator Mathieu Bock-Coté, and they will be more synergies with Europe 1, which Canal+ majority owner Vincent Bolloré bought a majority stake earlier in the year, including a television-radio simulcast of L. Ferrari’s Punchline and Le Grand Rendez-vous Europe 1. Morandini Live will shift to in-house production in November, as the Non Stop People channel closes in September. Otherwise, business as usual.
LCI and franceinfo will follow suit next week. In the case of the former, there are many arrivals from BFM TV, like Ruth Elkrief, Éric Brunet and Thomas Misrachi. Elkrief will front a political tranche from 20:00 to 22:00, featuring former Quotidien reporter Paul Larrouturou. All tranches have been rejigged, except for that by David Pujadas, which is staying at 18:00. Darius Rochebin, the last season’s star hiring, is being demoted to weekends in the wake of the sexual harassment scandal that hit him during his time as main anchor at Radio Télévision Suisse. There will be a new set and a bigger focus on news. There’s no info from franceinfo other than Samuel Étienne remaining in the mornings, as well as a more interactive delivery prioritising social media reporting, and special programming on September 1 to celebrate the channel’s fifth anniversary and the radio station’s transformation as a multiplatform media brand.

I am surprised by the new look. Thank god the analogue clock is still here, however, I might not be only one that thinks it looks too similar to the TV-am clock? Otherwise, it is an improvement. The set (we have now a designer, Franck Felleman's
Set*Up Paris studio) is a much needed improvement to the way they used the
cathedral set used by the main JTs. It is also way better than the old Télématin used in the final Leymergie phase, which looked very clinical. It has a GMB-like style but with the French flair, however, I also think it looks a bit garish. The format is very Première édition-like, but way less formal and more accessible. The only thing I don't understand is how they are now using a recoloured version of the JT graphics from Movement.
Many people which are accustomed to Télématin has had a polarised view of the changes, mostly complaining of the more chattier format, and how they dropped the conventional
report-debrief format which was used by the show's feature segments for a more
in-depth presentation.

BFM TV's studio video-wall has looked always awful, even when they were based out of their old HQ in Saint-Lambert. BFM is never well known for doing good graphics on-air, and this is a clear example. BTW, the set is still going on, and it has really never changed, except when they introduced a revolving camera on the studio roof.
