It’s the way Paul just stands there at the end, rather than chatting with the presenters like he usually does, like he’s taking part in a minutes silence.

Now they are single headed it’s debatable they’ll be able to resource such an event anymore
James Webster presenting the main edition of Calendar tonight for what I believe is the first time

Also Christine is on the front of tomorrow’s Yorkshire Post weekend magazine looking ahead to her final week on the programme

In other news, Keeley Donovan returned from maternity leave last week.
That was posted five days ago.

Amusingly due to the football the 'evening' Look North bulletin actually went out at 3:45pm today!
Jon Mitchell also doing West Country's weather today Smile

That must have been a bit different for Jon

I thought they’d stopped using forecasters from the other side of the country, Calendar’s fill-ins tend to come from either Granada, Tyne Tees or Anglia lately

Tbf, It wouldn’t have made a difference with Jon. I remember Jon from growing up in Yorkshire but whenever he does Granada he alway makes references to places which other ‘outsiders’ rarely do. I imagine he will have made a similar effort in the West Country.
Is Jon the longest serving ITV regional weather presenter? It's a shame he's not on the national team really.

Yes I’ve just watched it, and he does mention Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Dartmoor, Bideford…

And there were equally local mentions on the ‘West’ version as well

In the world of weather, unless you are Carol Kirkwood, it’s probably a better job to be a regional weather presenter, you are a full part of the programme, almost like a 3rd presenter. On the nationals you just do forecasts day after day, often without even any interaction with the newsreader particularly on ITV.

It’s probably also why Paul Hudson has also never shown any interest in moving to the nationals
At one time, Jon did cover the occasional national forecast, but I don’t think he’s done it for a long time now.

During the ITV News Channel days he would irregularly appear. I’m struggling to find a video on YouTube but IIRC he did some forecasts on the news channel now and then.
