The weather from Kat used at lunchtime looks like a forecast from Breakfast, as she started by saying ‘good morning’ and it was short
Looks like a weather presenter staff shortage today!

Pre-rec forecast from Paul Mooney on Look North Y&L too.

I thought it was a little crass of Peter to make the comment of ‘’flexible rostering this week’’. The Look North team in Leeds have just lost a very dear friend so it’s understandable some of them don’t feel up to working.

All of the regions have or had SNG trucks, as well a VSAT. Very much a thing, I'm afraid.

Breakfast opts are pan regional, it's been suggested it was a Breakfast forecast that was reused.

Pre-recorded forecasts from Katerina again tonight, presumably done this morning as part of the early shift. Peter Levy pointed out that he couldn’t chat to Kat with the usual banter, but it wasn’t because they had fallen out! Flexible Rostering again according to Peter!

Kat did Breakfast and lunch live from Leeds.

It’s not long to go until Jon Mitchell retires so an announcement of his replacement must surely be imminent.
Hopefully they will go with someone with a strong on air presence and who is the best person for the job, as with the programme having lost its entire presenting team, they can’t just drift along with someone bland.
The same goes for Duncan Wood’s replacement as well, the show is far too serious since Katy left and it’ll only get worse when Jon leaves.
Also, has David Hirst quietly left the programme, he doesn’t seem to have been on for months, and when Michael is off they have often had Sally or Lisa presenting with Lara

Emma Jesson, Jo Blythe or Kerrie Gosney could maybe replace Jon. Or someone completely different
As for Duncan. Michael looks like a string contender

Given here the other side of the Humber, do we really want Calendar to go down the Uncle Peter route at Look Hull?

I think it’s a real shame that Katy wasn’t kept on as a main presenter of Calendar. I thought she was perfect for the programme - down to earth, northern, relatable, and with a personality, like Calendar presenters of old.
I hear on the grapevine, though, that the bosses wanted to go for someone a bit more straight and serious, despite Katy proving very popular with the viewers.
If that’s the direction they want to take the programme in, it’s a real pity and, with Look North (Leeds) now being single-headed and consequently a bit more ‘dry’, a missed open-goal to open up a point of difference between the two programmes.
