I can’t wait to see even more various mishaps and muddles from the years, in a brand new home.
Breakdown Appreciation Thread Mark 2 is alive! - and to mark this event, here is an extended version of a breakdown I shared on TVF.

There's a bit of difficulty coming out of the "CBBC on BBC One" block, first we go straight to a black screen from a trail, then we go to a CBBC fault caption from another trail before finding the correct slide.

The tennis feed cuts out in this BBC2 blooper from 2018...

While over in snooker, the Crucible suddenly loses power, resulting in the picture being frozen before presentation took over, think someone forgot to put some money into the power meter...

Is there a reason this thread is in the Websites section? Genuine question, I feel like maybe I've missed a connection!
[mod]Topic has now been moved.[/mod]
I believe Rob stated on the live stream that this thread would be more suited to the Websites forum similarly to the YouTube/Twitter Gold.

That’s what I thought to be honest, but I suppose it fits into either category if you think about it Smile
I quite enjoy this breakdown on The Saturday Show from 2002.

There must be a few examples of commercial breakdowns. I posted a couple on the old tv forum, from the early days of channel 4, and I'll post them here later if that's ok?
And here's one of them. These adverts were from the days when the local ITV companies sold the C4 airtime in their area. This ad break was from the TVS region, and Tony Currie suggested that, the reason for the fault before the last ad was the other adverts were being played off cartridge, wheras the last one, for a sherry, was from cinefilm. He suggested that the cine projector failed to start. Ignore the Granada on the countdown to the advert; that's simply who made or produced the advert.

Looks like things don't really go to plan on launch day!

Those Newsround titles really scream early millennium, eh.

The Newsround titles were blue and green, this was Lite which was for showbiz news:

Lots of flashy effects and 3D movement, very 2002!

You were not wrong! Especially the studio. If at you look at 2002's Catchphrase, for example, gives very similar vibes :D
A few breakdowns I'll share over from TVF.

(Edit: Not going to share all of them because you can find them all on the original thread when TVF becomes an archive)

A "fracas" starts on The Time The Place, forcing the programme to end ten minutes early.

Batman: The Animated Series falls off the air, leaving John McKenzie to fill in for a couple of minutes, along with some music.

Over to the Beeb now and a breakdown I vividly remember.

It was nearly Christmas time in 2009 and one afternoon, the "CBBC on BBC One" block was littered with problems, eventually it kicked the bucket after Newsround when a trail for Tracy Beaker had initialized in audio only, forcing CBBC to end a few minutes early and cut straight to a breakdown caption, CA apologised and music was played for a few minutes before going to The Weakest Link.
