I wouldn't call getting the programme back on air after 4m14s "eventually"! Last time I had an issue with my sound desk the channel was off air for 22 minutes. (Though it would've been 18 were it not for a miscommunication with MCR and Pres)

What the hell was going on here? According to the video description this only happened on BBC1 Oxford and there was no acknowledgement of it on air.
We used to have these friends in Methilhill, in Fife, and once we were through in the 1980s visiting them. Chick, he was trying to enjoy the racing on Channel 4. I say trying, as there were quite a few breakdowns during the coverage! I think it was at least four times the coverage was lost. Whether he missed any races, is a question I can't answer.
Whether he had any winners, again I can't answer. Odds on, he was frustrated at the breakdowns!

One of the promos froze and cut to a black screen, with the CA announcing the next programme over a black screen!
(Edit: Black screen lasted for three minutes? and "Not Going Out" came on two minutes late!)

This was posted in the old place, so I'll post it here. Whether Meridian, who commissioned Wizadora, or Central (who did the CITV continuity), played this out I'm not sure. But whatever, the programme was played too early, resulting in a rewind that probably had kids puzzled or laughing!
In the old place, someone managed to match up the restarted programme in sync with the first attempt, and it seems where the announcer said "As if by magic", that's when they started playing the programme.

It does seem like the CA was trying to pad the link out, especially as there seems to be no real reason to carry on talking after he says "here comes Wizadora," and the ident is held on its last frame for longer than probably intended. I wouldn't blame whoever was in charge of pressing Play for thinking that was the cue to start the programme. But then again wouldn't the VT clock be counting down to give everyone involved a cue?

Well, as I mentioned above, someone in the old place did match the opening titles up, to when thy paused it, and seemingly they pressed play the moment the CA said "And now, as if by magic". What could be asked is, when the CA started the magic spell, why didn't they pause and rewind it then, why wait until it mixed through to the programme? I'm also not sure if the announcement was done live, or pre recorded.
