Other than the first logo, CN Studios has gone its own direction branding-wise. Take the 2010 logo, looks really different than the official CN logo.

The font being used is Eagle Black; the Eagle Bold font is the one used in the 1992-2004 and 2004-2010 Cartoon Network logo.

This caught my eye this evening -- a montage of the brand package from the former Israeli television network Eser.

This is their final logo and brand design, which launched in 2017 in the wake of a massive shakeup of the Israeli broadcast television landscape that year -- the Israeli public broadcaster Channel 1 was shut down and replaced by Kan 11; Eser's commercial competitors Channel 2 split into their own separate channels, Keshet 12 and Reshet 13, and Channel 10 (launched in 2003) was moved to channel 14.

In response to the move, the channel rebranded as Eser; literally the word meaning "ten" in Hebrew, as opposed to using the numeral as they could previously. (If you're having trouble imagining what that looks like here due to the script being in Hebrew, it's conceptually similar to the logo used by Australia's Network 10 from 1991 until 2018.) During this period, the network used the slogan "Eser is 14" (which is somewhat confusing once you fully translate it).

Due to the more competitive commercial market with the split of Channel 2 into Keshet 12 and Reshet 13, as well as financial woes that had plagued Channel 10 and Eser for a decade, Eser merged with Reshet 13 and shut down its own channel on January 16, 2019. Some programming from the former Eser continues on what is now Channel 13, particularly their news department, which replaced the news broadcasts they had shared prior with Keshet 12 (and aired as Channel 2 before that). Eser's former channel space on channel 14 has now been reallocated to the former Channel 20, which now broadcasts a right-wing news format as Now 14 (as discussed in the International News thread).

Quite a unique and interesting look, honestly; fresh and modern with a certain energy to it that's markedly different than what we usually see posted here from places like Europe and North America. I wish I could find some more of the idents and presentation, but I think there's a bit of a language barrier getting in the way (not to mention the fact that the package was only used for just over a year before Eser merged into Reshet 13). Not a look into "what could've been", per se, but a peek into what fleetingly was.

Speaking of Reshet 13, they adopted a new look and logo for the New Year.
This comes at a big year for 13 as they're getting not only a new look (along with refreshed news openers) but also a new morning show and a new website later in 2022.

Why they want to sell CW?
Apparently it isn't profitable. It's mentioned in the article.

Brief additional note: the music was composed by LA and Tel Aviv-based sound designer Irad Eshel, which has composed all of the music themes for the separately operated news division which produces the programs for Channel 10/Reshet 13 since 2003. For that particular rebrand, he was also in charge of the sound design for the entertainment brand. In his personal web page there are a lot of examples of the brand in many of its incarnations.

Liking the new brand identity, really makes it different from the original brand used after the split, clearly marked by the legacy of the former Arutz 2. However, it would need to be seen how it is implemented with the current news graphics (the most recent time they changed the look was in 2020, when they moved from a small office building which is also the home to the English-language Jerusalem Post to a bigger studio in Jerusalem.

What? Selling the CW to Nexstar? They have the really bad experience of turning WGN America into NewsNation, so I have some feelings this could go absolutely wrong (although Nexstar has a large number of CW affiliates, thus it could make some sense).

I really like the israeli tv presentation style. Well maybe I just like the work of STAF that judging by their portfolio can apparently be seen on various israeli channels.

DIY Channel, a cable channel on home improvement, was rebranded as Magnolia Network in the US after its earlier launch on Discovery+.
https://youtu.be/Co0Yn0uE3Vk
Although it's only available in the US, I think it's miles better than its predecessor presentation-wise, as the logo is more modern and pleasing than the bold san-serif small letters.

Contrasting to this nicer rebrand, WETA (PBS in Washington DC) quietly sprayed a new coat of paint on their ribbon symbol, albeit not as fresh.

[Image: weta-pbs_1900x1900.png?itok=HrnJLOlb]According to Logopedia, it bears resemblance to its 1988 symbol, but it looks more like a poor imitation of it and the Coke wave in my opinion.

Alongside the main station and its radio counterpart,  sister stations like WETA UK also received a facelift, which looks more like a downgrade, if you compare this to the previous symbol:

It was designed by Loyalkaspar, which also redefined the brand architecture of the Gaines' media empire, using that same brand as the corporate brand for the Magnolia company. Here's a look at the new brand.

Ewww. This looks horrible, they attempted to do a modern throwback to the 1989 symbol with no success. Contrast it with Gray NBC affiliate WAVE 3, which is about to replace their 2000s logo (dating back to when Liberty Corporation (no relation to the Malone company) owned the station and which survived the Raycom and Gray mergers) with a modernized version of their original 1950s logo to celebrate their 70th anniversary. The promo can be seen here. The design team at WAVE certainly managed to capture the essence of the 1950s logo, but modernizing it to the current age.

Oh my. I think they win in how many cringy design clichés they can throw in about the UK. Yuck

The end of Paramount Network italy

The shutdown slide for Spike

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3om9Hu35sfI

Here's the beginning of its replacement, because of an agreement with Mediaset on the slot occupied by Paramount Network, channel 27:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4DMl4yhoXE

Yes, the channel is oddly named "twenty-seven", even though they know people will call it Ventisette (in Italian!)
VH1 is also moved to a much less important EPG slot on DTT, and its future is doubtful,

What I don't like about this whole thing is that Mediaset gets another cheap channel yet, as if they don't have too many already!

Twentyseven more, will be mostly cheap repeats from the early 80s (probably because Paramount catered especially this audience), for an older audience. Which gets to my next point, the pronounced shift from linear TV to streaming TV for a younger audience in Italy.
I don't know many of my age cohort who still watch linear television, and ViacomCBS clearly thinks they can do better with Pluto TV and Paramount+, as seen by the shutdown of Paramount Network in the Nordics.

It'll still be a bit sad, to see another "big" go from the Italian DTT, but it is what it is
