Quite decent for what is a temporary set-up - certainly better than Sport's old permanent set-up before 2003!

That looks as though the plasma screens are outside the secondary studio, and within the re-dressed newsroom which may (or may not) still be for NWT.

That window was previously used when 'Politics Show North West' used the space, to make it appear bigger.  It looks like a relatively decent sized area, as long as they keep the camera shots quite tight.

For a temporary setup, I think it looks quite good

This weeks edition of Talking Business seems to have a black bar at the bottom during the full thing and the promos for it. Small, but annoying.

I've been wanting to post this as I have been ruminating on something and would like others thoughts on it.

Given the recent change to Studio B, the imminent changes in the Nations - and eventually Regions - as alluded to by Clean Feed. Could this be a 'proper' reason why any revamping or rebranding is being waited on until next year? To kind of make sure all concerned are singing from the same design or technical hymn sheet - to use the certain vernacular.

Just that given from what has been alluded to is the Nations getting upgrades this year and the Regions in a phased approach probably next year. I may be spitballing here but does this seem a decent way of looking at why the new look won't be introduced until everything is in place. Certainly if one is looking at it from a BBC One perspective.

I doubt it because the regions will likely have their sets updated over a period of months, if not years - it's not something that usually is done in all regions at once.   Therefore there will never be a set date where everything is ready - and if your waiting two years for the last regional set to be done to rebrand the national news that is very much a waste of time.

It does seem unfair that some regions like NE&C are still using a 15 year old set and have an ancient gallery whereas others have had a NBH style set in the interim and are getting another set.

True!, Look North Hull’s set is more ancient

North East: January 2010
North West: November 2011
Yorkshire: May 2018
Humberside: March 2009
East Mids: March 2016
Midlands: May 2017
East: December 2009
Cambridge: December 2009
South East: September 2014
Oxford: April 2014
South: April 2010
West: December 2010
South West: June 2015
Channel Islands: November 2013
London: June 2014
Scotland: January 2014
Wales: September 2020
N Ireland: March 2016

Think this is correct, though correct me if there are any mistakes.

Main takeaways:
- Average regional set is 9 years old, with seven regions having a set that is more than a decade old.
- Humberside has the oldest set at 13 years, Wales not only have the newest set but have had three new sets during the life of the Hull set.
- Only two regions have had new sets in the last five years.
- Half of regions still have a Barco-style set more than nine years after the style was discontinued at the national level - bizarrely this includes three regions whose sets are younger than the move to NBH.

So Scotland, London and NI have some of the newest sets yet they’re being prioritised again? Gosh there isn’t half some politics in the BBC.
