He did a couple of simulcast shifts in E during the pandemic (around Christmas time).

Strange scheduling change for the News at 6 tonight, was scheduled for 7pm but brought forward to 6:05pm. Understandable giving everything going on, but why not start it at 6? It's not being shown on the NC either, just a regular hour with Shaun Ley.

Does this mean they are starting the football earlier? I went for the radio news instead.

Well the tennis wasn't quite done in time for 6pm on the dot but agree it's odd - guess they didn't pencil it in when the tennis schedule was amended as there was no guarantee it would be done by 6pm.

They are showing “The Repair Shop” at 7 between the news and the football.

It was always scheduled at 7pm for today to allow for continuous coverage of Wimbledon if required due to the football on BBC Two.

Did they call it a 6 or a normal news?

Something wrong with the graphics today? They seem to be on a delay and overlaying over each other ?

The fake AR hoop failed to appear at the 2.30PM junction so we now can see how bad in shape the physical hoop is: The hoop display monitors are getting more faint and blurry, the broken part is still visible...
 
 
Compared to a few years ago where the hoop is not broken and is very bright with clear display:

I mean that’s not an entirely fair comparison given the sunlight streaming into the newsroom today which will inevitably make it appear less bright.

Funniest thing for me is how out of place the old box now looks, what we get used to changes quickly.

There is - you can see it from the pictures. The desks closest to the camera are much brighter. This will in turn make the hoop look darker.

It’s not an entirely closed basement - there’s a huge atrium with light.

The broken ‘hoop’ also appeared on the BBC One bulletin as well, so it’s had a mainstream outing!

I know it won’t be the easiest job, but surely they can move the desks under it, maybe relocate the staff into a meeting room, over a quiet weekend, and get some scaffolding up to fix it?
