ITV7 is something to do with a horse racing promotion or competition thing isn't it?
Yes - it dated back to the 80s, perhaps even earlier, and was revived when ITV won back the racing rights. Basically it's a bet on the 7 races ITV show in a broadcast.

Bringing it back to presentation and the current ITV logo can't be far off being the longest official ITV logo now. I'd certainly stick with it moving forward but would welcome a rebrand of the idents and presentation (not the names, that would be stupid) of all the main ITV channels in the next year or so. ITV3 & 4 have had their current lok since 2013 now, and ITV2's second set of idents under this look still date back to 2015. I also don't think ITV Creates has the impact it did on launch now either.
Eh, I'm fine with the current ITV logo lasting longer the 1998 and 2006 logos.
Having seen more varients of this month's idents, it seems that they had quite a bit of fun making them, which is very nice.

I wouldn't expect them to go for a full on rebrand and logo change for a while, the current logo seems to be working for them and I'll be honest it looks quite nice - nowadays, consistent branding is everything so small revisions (like what the BBC are doing), possibly but I wouldn't expect a wholly new logo.

Me neither. Initially, I was divided on the logo when it was first unveiled in late 2012 but I've come to appreciate it as a major improvement from their previous boxed logos.

We're talking about renaming ITV's highly successful multichannel network seemingly because some people don't like numbered channels?
I personally am FINE with numbered channels, but ITV is a Mish mash between the two, as obviously ITV Be shows.

I mean, potentially, they could give each channel more of an ... identity?

BBC are fine though, don't get me wrong
Hardly a mish mash - they have one channel which breaks the convention. This is only guesswork but I'm guessing the ITVBe brand may have evolved from it being conceived as essentially ITV2B.

Apparently ITV claimed before launch that it stood for 'Better Entertainment', which would be stretching credulity.

I later heard that 'Be' referred to the aspiration of "what women wanted to be", which may account for why Irish TV launched be3 as part of their TV3 bouquet of channels.
What is itv be's audience share compared to ITV2?
Has the presence of itv be actually weakened ITV2 by spreading content to thinly?

The square tiles used on main itv when sometimes advertising programmes on itv 2, 3 or 4 or on the end credits now and next screen looks better and should be the tile square for the other channels tie them all together better.

Remember the first ever itv creates look when it started where the image was projected onto the logo like birds flying etc.. I'd give that artist a commission to work on a 2 logo ( obviously as in my past posts rather loose the numbers but seems I'm in the minority on that plan ?)
Add the square itv 2 tile to bottom of screen on idents etc ...
Then repeat process (but with different artist) for rest of itv channels then all more linked to main itv .

That would certainly be a backronym by someone in marketing - and as you say about as inaccurate as it could be. I know it's a few years old now but it's interesting how the channel was basically launched because ITV essentially said they had too much interest in advertising for ITV2, and I suspect it's a similar story with how 4Music has evolved to capture that advertising market too rather than limit content to E4. So either the narrative that young people are turning away from linear TV isn't quite as extreme as they suggest, or simply as they do advertisers are willing to pay even more to reach an increasingly hard to target audience.

Anyway back to ITV Creates and more specifically presentation. Even though this look is only a couple of years old (though an evolution of what came before), I would say ITV3 and ITV4 presentation actually feels fresher - but maybe that's because unless if you're watching the channels you generally see less of it.
The CA on the ident leading into the regional news at 6:20pm was the one intended to introduce Rolling In It, and included a plug for tomorrow evening's showing of one of the Harry Potter films.

The exact same CA was then used to *actually* introduce Rolling In It, ten minutes later.

Ah, so not just Tyne Tees then (is all continuity networked now? I seem to remember an incident a few years ago where Granada played the wrong 'Creates' ident for that month). I do seem to remember this happening before.

All continuity across ITV plc regions has been networked for years, surely?

The various network announcers have pre-recorded bespoke announcements for each regions' weekday 6pm programme (name-checking at least the region itself, plus also the presenter names if both "A Team" regional anchors are on duty that day).

But the ident & CA leading into weekend & bank holiday regional bulletins are national and generic (hence the wording being along the lines of "now the ITV News where you are" or similar).

Been networked since 2002. When the regional logos went, so did the regional continuity.

Yes but there have been varying levels of regional continuity (from London) before local shows. Continuity for regional news was absent for many years but other regional shows had idents which included the region’s name until 2007. Given that the incorrect announcement preceded regional news (albeit at the weekend) it’s reasonable to wonder whether that was the same everywhere.
It wasn’t our usual friend either who made this mistake either

Probably got confused due to the strange set up of having to introduce ‘ITV News’ twice 15 mins apart
