On a related note. Anyone still have a copy of David Lowe's BBC World: The Music single? I do.
Yes, I’ve got one too, which is a bit odd considering I used to be paid to listen to it every 15 minutes …

Cool. I really love listening to that album, but I've never owned a copy of it myself.

Easily sorted. It’s still available at davidlowemusic.com in digital format or on CD. :-)

I never knew you can get that from his site! Thanks for letting me know and hopefully this helps other people here who want to get a hold of one!

A total bargain at £4, and you’re welcome.
There is ugly and then there is that. And that's coming from someone who loved the clamshell era.

The music still works well actually. And it's the only one I can't find a clean version of, too. :?
I think we all forgot that one. Destroyed the very notion of the breakfiller.

Actually for a breakfiller, that one is one I rank at second behind the 2000-2003 one. I would actually say it is more of its time circa 2005, certainly with its graphics laid out as it was with the main screen and header, now/next bar and sidebar. Yes, it may have been different from its predecessor bur was more "to be expected" of when it was on.
Unless I am day dreaming bbc world news is going out with bbc news lower thirds including the clock.

I agree - and it's somewhat nicer than the one it was introduced with in 2003! Does anyone know who composed that one yet?

The 1999 breakfiller was a classic really it hasn’t been bettered and will never be bettered, it was kinda ruined at the end of it though with already prepared coming up graphics and in the end that’s all that was played.

If I remember rightly, that was because the teletext service on BBC World was very much scaled back, and that was where most of the data on the ABF (Automatic Breakfiller) came from. Hence it was replaced by a generic ABF until the Dynamic Junction came in. If anyone wants to know how the ABF worked, I’ve posted about it before (I think on here, but certainly on the other place) but will happily do so again.
World News America came from Studio C, NBH tonight with Christian Fraser - Thanksgiving in the states...
Just a quick one, with all the staff leaving the BBC, it occurred to me I haven't seen Babita Sharma on air in a long time.
Has she left?
