The close up backdrop behind him (a loop of NBH) is very distracting due to its proximity.
That’s Studio K, normally used by World Service TV.

Thanks for the correction, Frances. My bad. Social distancing is giving us a whole host of variations this time.
Central Square providing a fantastic backdrop for BBC Wales. Looks like BBC1 is using the screens on the ground floor and a position on the balcony, with the news studio used for the graphics. Can't quite work out where S4C are - possibly the usual sports studio.

You may joke, but we've seen stones in BBC News presentation before ! Smile

Ditto! I am gobsmacked at how incredible that whole building looks in full use. Puts any other BBC facility in the shade. It really is a stunning. S4C are on the top floor. 10/10

That is a good joke, but I'm being serious there are small BBC election logos on the set. Big Grin Although you can probably only see them on the TV!

If you are referring to the set where Kirsty Wark is based then yes there are. They look like they are covering screws or joints.

Indeed
Pouring with rain and sleet in Edinburgh now - and it’s blowing into the Sky News position by the looks of it.
ITV Wales coverage online: https://www.itv.com/news/wales

They've rejigged their studio with the desk with Andrea in the corner and the screen moved with Adrian on the otherside - but frankly in these times of social distancing the studio just isn't big enough. Switching between BBC1 and ITV is like switching from a mansion to a caravan.

I agree the ITV Wales studio is quite small. Also they seem to just have 1 studio to use for news and programmes like this, its a shame they dont have a second studio for events like this when needed.
I think in normal times with a couple of guests in the studio it would be fine (and indeed not much smaller than ITN have in London for the General Election) but would have been better here to have Adrian set up somewhere else so Andrea could have at least one expert guest in the studio.
Anything on ITV Border Scotland? Are they taking the STV coverage?
The ITV Wales studio is too small for something like this. Adrian could do with being in the newsroom or using the green screen but the problem is the latter is in the studio also so there’s literally no room to swing a cat.
It makes having guests in the studio impossible when social distancing is involved and their coverage gets hampered because of it.
Still I guess it’s nice that they’ve bothered at least.
Jane Hill on the 3pm news summary said the News Channel coverage of the Downing Street briefing will begin at 1630.
Where is Sophy Ridge broadcasting from? I assume Millbank
