It seemed destined for a post-Strictly slot so wonder if ITV have put Beat the Chasers at 8.30pm to force them to air it before Strictly instead, unless it doesn't start for another month.

Speaking of Blankety Blank, just seen the coming soon on BBC ONE promo and the logo for the new series reminded me of former UKTV channel Really, with the way the A's are styled.

Yeah it does look a bit strange - I think they're trying to imitate the American logo but they don't seem to have pulled it off completely in my view - it just doesn't work as well with "Blankety Blank" than "Match Game"

It's in Digiguide at 9pm from Saturday October 2nd so based on current scheduling would overlap with Beat the Chasers.

Without wishing to stray to much I think the way they've quoted 'suddenly' in that article and the subsequent quote is not exactly the most ethical of writing considering the circumstances and the established methods in place, especially considering how many of the tabloids were reporting on his circumstances a month ago in a more sensational manner. As such a bit of consideration needed when quoting from articles as well.

His work though on Millionaire really was probably one of the most game changing moments in television - it's influence could be heard everywhere in the noughties.

Only Connect goes from strength to strength it would appear, a perfectly positioned gameshow between general knowledge of the likes of The Chase, and some indecipherable gibberish of a question on University Challenge that you need a degree just to understand never mind answer.

The best question ever on Only Connect was probably this one from a couple of years ago, and not just because I remember getting it at the time:

what links Beethoven's 7th, Centre of Gravity, 3rd of November and Very Beginning?

It was so so simple and yet the contestants didn't get it.

Still can't answer any other damn question though, get a missing vowel answer on occasion and the odd connecting wall answer but beyond that...

I do love Only Connect but it needs to remain on BBC Two, it would be lose something moving to BBC One and I think BBC Two needs to keep as many of its hits as possible.

Who said anything about moving it to BBC One?

As long as they don’t move it from the 8:00pm slot for Nigella again, like they did last year then I’m happy. The quiz zone from 7:30 to 9:00 on Mondays works quite well, and hopefully they won’t change it.

It works well but it would be nice if they could find one other show to then pair with Mastermind on another night.

I think the smart quiz block works really well, I'm not sure if Mastermind is strong enough to work on its own with an untested format. That being said, I'd love to see a UK version of Hard Quiz which is kind of like Mastermind but with a comedic element.
