Clean studio output is used to feed agencies, so presumably picked up via one of those. Clean output so they can edit their own segments without the clock etc. that would be seen on an off air feed. Probably switched to bars when the transmission lines were de-routed by the gallery after the programme.

They did and if I remember correctly this resulted in content being broadcast in the UK that shouldn't because it was either sponsored and or was sport without UK rights.

Better mix of stories / live links in the 8am hour currently. The 25 minute BBC News Royal Review at 7:35am wasn't entirely unexpected, especially given you get pre-recorded cut aways on usual Saturday / weekend editions of Breakfast for things like Newswatch and the Film Review.

Breakfast still around twice as many viewers as GMB, both in terms of viewers and percentage. I imagine most families preferred a lie in and watching something more cheery than the news.
To be honest I didn’t even realise they had Breakfast on Christmas Day
It wouldn't be a great reflection on the country if Breakfast was higher than 1m on Christmas Day. Personally would rather see BBC1 have a more festive start to the day. We had the Christmas concert on Sky Arts on first thing and that really set the day up nicely.
It’s a low rating but it’s not unusual for Breakfast to be under 1m on public holidays

Yes - and on that note as much as it doesn't seem right for the BBC to end their lunchtime summary by telling you the next news on BBC1 is just before midnight I'm kind of glad that was the case.
