F1 have moved Qualifying this weekend from 2pm UK to 1pm time to avoid clashing with the funeral and moved all Friday practice up by half an hour.

Back to last Friday and ratings I've still not seen any ratings for the actual 6pm and 10pm news bulletins, or indeed the afternoon coverage. The primetime ratings tell one story (which really doesn't need repeating over and over again), but not the whole story.

Not sure if this has already been posted but Sky news has changed the starting time of it’s coverage. It now starts at half 12 as opposed to 2pm.

Yes, and as a consequence she will never be a pub quiz answer in years to come. (Except for a TVF/L pub quiz reunion of course )

There wasn't one missing though, or indeed anything missing. If you are a BBC One viewer rather than someone who watches the News Channel, you didn't get a black screen on BBC One - you got full coverage of the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, albeit that that coverage just happened to duplicate something that was on a channel you don't watch (the BBC News Channel) and indeed on BBC Two as well. BBC One has a role to cover really major news events as they occur. The News Channel has its own remit - they just happened to coincide on this occasion. If you are a News Channel viewer, you also got all the news coverage you like and, as a news junkie, also got BBC One yanked off air. The power of the news that is always there. It is viewers of BBC Two that might have justification to complain and should have been complaining for several years already, as their station has been effectively part-time in daytime for many years due to funding cuts.
In terms of what the funeral will be like, I wonder if there will be a short funeral procession from the private Royal Chapel in the upper ward of the castle where the royal chapel and apartments are, down to St George's Chapel, possibly led by a small royal band playing a funeral march which would make it a scaled down ceremonial funeral procession.
The funeral service will probably last around 45 to 60 minutes, before the Duke's coffin taken to his final resting place within the castle.
I think this will be a very dignified scaled down ceremony, and it will be interesting to see how it will look on TV.
