  Best channel launches
Posted by: Jexedback - 29-03-2021, 10:28 AM - Forum: Presentation - Replies (43)

“A new day, a new dawn, a new television station”
Welcome to TV Live Forum.

As TVF closed with the best big endings, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about best channel launches.

Always thought Westcountry was classy

And I liked the Johnny Vaughan wraparound stuff of BBC Three

Still love the Blobs’

Due to the fact that a replacement for Piers Morgan is bound to be announced in the coming months, and that some guests are now back in the studio, I thought I'd do the honour of starting a GMB thread.

They made full use of the 'big desk' this morning, as Richard Gaisford was in the studio. I believe Pierce and Maguire were too.

  Reviving Obsolete Set-Top Boxes

This thread is a continuation of the discussion of a project attempting to operate popular and now non-functional digital TV receivers built for use in the UK during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Previous discussion and screenshots can be found at https://tvforum.uk/mediatech/candw-ntl-t...info-45942 (archived as of 31st March 2021).

The project has experienced something of a lull, but work is expected to recommence soon, and as the forum hosting the original thread is very soon to become read-only it seemed necessary to give the project a new home before it does.

  BBC News: Nostalgia

Kind of carrying on from where the other place left off. This time including the Nations & Regions and BBC Two, BBC Three and BBC Four into the all conquering discussion bowl.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Anyway after that brief introduction, where was I. Oh yes.

Looking back then at the BBC English Regions period of 2002-2007. Is anyone else kind of disappointed or still shocked at the "weakness" of the many regions trying to emulate BBC London from 2001.

Firstly how fab is this new place, 10 Kays out of 10.

Is it me or does BBC Midlands need a relight? Very dark and gloomy shots on Sunday's evening bulletin.

It might just be their awful cameras or something wrong with iPlayer encoding but it just doesn't look right.

Not being in the region anymore I can't see how it looks via DTT/Cab/DSat.
