When cable was trying to complete with Sky, it had channels like L!VE TV, Travel Channel, Performance, Carlton Select, Carlton Food Network, The Box, Channel One, HVC and AsiaNet and 24 hour versions of The Sci Fi Channel, EBN and CMT Europe.
The plan was for Mirror Group to turn Wire TV into L!VE TV and SportsWire, but cable locked into a agreement with Sky and SportsWire channel was shelved, putting cable in cold leaving Mirror with just L!VE TV.
My memories with L!VE TV that I started watching regularly when was channel hopping and I saw a bowling show Pin Money. That was the reasons I've started watching the channel, they took Pin Money off air shortly after that. With L!VE, all was dandy until NTL took over and shut it down.
Discounting HD channels there no cable exclusive channels anymore.

Hello,
I thought I’d request something for the last time.
If anyone has a clean copy of the Piers Morgan Uncensored opening and closing themes, the new BBC London/Local themes, Worklife and Outside Source (New), that would be greatly appreciated.

When I was a toddler on my analogue cable system, there was a music channel called The Box that played videos requested by viewers. It was fun watching non stop late 1995-mid 1997 with the highlight being the Spice Girls first video Wannabe.
After 18 months a lull in being watching the channel religiously, I started watching again when they were playing Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston's When You Believe as well as starting to watch MTV. I wish When You Believe was playing on MTV and The Box to death bit they mostly dropped it like hot potato after January 1999. The signs that they moved away from playing that song when MTV and The Box changed logos that year.

Here we are then, this is it...
The forum will close on Sunday at midday, and will return as a read-only site in the next few weeks. Again, I'm very sad about closing it down, but I know in my heart I'm doing the right thing. It's time for somebody else to take on the task of creating a new forum, with their own ideas and ways of doing things. I wish whoever takes on the mantle the very best of luck. As I've said, I won't be participating in any of the new sites that crop up, but I'll still be around on social media as well as Metropol if you ever do want to say hello to me.
We've been through a lot in the last 16 months. The forum sprung into life 10 days after opening, by covering the death of Prince Phillip. Since then, we've had a relaunch of Sky News, the new BBC logo, the launch of Studio B, the launches of GB News and TalkTV, the Olympics, the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Eurovision, and so much more besides. You've discussed all these events (well most of them) with respect and consideration for others, and I cannot thank you all enough for that.
To those responsible for me making the decision to close the forum, I have nothing more to say.
What are my plans for the future? Well, I've got the main TV Live website to rebuild, and that's something I'm REALLY looking forward to, I'm going to concentrate much more on my radio show as well, which is going from strength to strength. More people are tuning in to the show every week, and I'm proud of what I've achieved with it so far...
Thank you again to everyone who has posted such kind and encouraging comments about the work we've done over the years. Also, thank you again to Ben, David, James, Matt & Pete for their contributions to making the forum work better than I could have possibly imagined.
I won't be marking the farewell with a drink, as I'm working on Sunday evening, so on Monday I shall raise a glass to the forum and to each and every one of you for contributing to what was a fantastic community of people (if you'd like to buy me a pint, the donate button at the bottom of the page still works)
So for now, it's goodbye, thank you for visiting, and don't forget to switch off your televisions and unplug them from the mains.
Goodbye.

I probably will never be able to do this ever again - so I'll ask now. Does anyone here have either version of the London Tonight theme (1993 or 1999) - and if you do, could you pretty please share it? It's so rare. Thanks so much. I'll owe you one.
