Amy had been my choice for quite sometime so I'm pleased for her. There was a comment on TVF that she doesn't have warmth, but I'm sure that will come from being on screen more regularly rather than out doing the big stories.

As much as I really like Pam, presentation wise in recent years she does slip into a persona where it feels like she's a children's presenter and talking to the audience as though they're children.

I still stand by my comments - Amy is a fantastic reporter, I just find she’s better suited to hard news rather than the softer regional side. Perhaps they’re warming her up for the nationals as she’s made a very quick progression from production journalist to on-screen journalist to main presenter. Perhaps we’ll see a new side to her in her new role. She has big shoes to fill for sure. Edit: A nice new addition made before tonight’s bulletin with a newly recorded introduction from the continuity announcer.

Just carrying on the conversation from the other forum and the mystery of whether Pam received the same bouquet of flowers in the Border programme and then was given them again live in the Tyne Tees version? We need to know!

I watched the TT bulletin on Monday and there was nothing there that made me think she was unsuitable. Just because she's gone through the ranks quickly doesn't make her a bad presenter.
She's certainly better than Faizal Islam and Kimberley Leonard when they first started on Sky News, but both of those have grown into delivering in their own styles. Amy will certainly reach that level too.

You can catch up on Tyne Tees on its website now. I think all regions will slowly do the same

Rachel Sweeney is leaving to join GB News as a reporter serving the North East.

Amy Sutton has regularly covered for her, so I guess she will now be taking over her on morning bulletins. Congratulations, Rachel.

A sad story coming up on tonight's Look North about former Tyne Tees stalwart Bill Steel...

It was a sad piece, but good to see Bill still had his sense of humour and that recognisable voice.
