The only decent rebrand for this channel, would be a testcard

Where does RT find the British presenters? It’s based in a Moscow studio these days. I assume they already had family is Russia etc.
I note there are still trailers for Alex salmand’s show.

Apparently John Suchet's son is one of them.

Well I think the time has come to call it a day with the broadcaster unless you support the actions of Russia.

I guess people signing up with be convinced they are the Western voice, the voice of balance, etc. when they do so. It's easy for us to sit here and say they should call it a day now but we don't know what consequences such a decision would have for them now. Just as it's foolish to believe everything reported by RT is true it's also foolish to believe those involved in broadcasting the information are doing so completely under their own free will.
Interesting Foxtel have banned in Australia though and may be pressure on Sky and Freeview to do the same here if OFCOM won't withdraw the licence, for reasons previously discussed.

Are you suggesting the presenters are being detained or blackmailed and are unable to leave?
Highly improbable. Regardless of what Russia is doing, I think holding British presenters hostages might be a bit too obvious. Many of these presenters have been there for years, by choice.

I mean I doubt they're anything more than modern day Lord Haw-Haws who genuinely believe Russia's narrative to be the correct one. They'll be fully aware of what they signed up for when they decided to relocate their entire lives to Moscow.

I'm not trying to justify them, just want to clarify this point

Presumably the salaries are pretty decent for the presenters/journalists to move to Moscow and when RT increased their UK operation, they had grads on pretty good salaries for their first gig working at Millbank Tower.
Rory Suchet and some of the other British presenters have been with RT for years.

Yes but the build up has been going on since last year summer. Plenty of time to decide to leave, and even now there are flights out. Even to fly to somewhere else in Europe. Been going on for three days as well. It is indeed possible they have family there and hence have concerns about that which I would understand. But my point is they would have made a decision to remain many times in which they knew what they were broadcasting were lies and still remained, way before this war started.

It's easy to say these things looking on but you only have to look at Andrew Neil and GB News to see how respected journalists can get caught up in the propaganda of a station, never mind the country. We don't know at all how much access to outside information people working within the station are getting and whether they are knowingly broadcasting lies or are just so consumed by the Putin narrative that they believe what is being broadcast. Considering how oblivious stations like FOX News can be to how events are really unfolding it's not unimaginable to believe that may be the case for some at RT.
No doubt there will be other who are fully aware they're part of the big lie - and either happy to play that role or resigned to not being able to break from the narrative at the moment. It's very easy for us to sit behind a lap top thousands of miles away and say they should get out but they are not working in a country which respects a free press - journalists get imprisoned, journalists get murdered. It appears there has been resignations but some will be cautious about speaking out about leaving until they are assured that they and their families are safe.
