If so, that was just the newsroom set before the Nine moved there in October 1988. They obviously changed the set a bit to accommodate the Nine. It's definitely not CSO - Moira is casting a shadow on the background.

Which I always assumed was from Lime Grove given that it seems to be principally the Newsnight team doing these BBC 2 summaries and they end with a plug for been Newsnight.
That said there is a clip on YT of Richard Baker doing a bulletin from the same set, but as it's CSO there's no reason why it couldn't have been at TV Centre on a weekend or other night when Newsnight wasn't on air.

I love the clapping effect alongside the pips on these. For me though nothing will beat that clarion call of the horn on the Six in the late 90s.

Well, I don't remember it being that weird watching from the UK on BBC News 24 (during to me anyways, unknown simulcasts) but did find it weird that overnights we'd go back to the flags. Also for that era of the more "serious" that was the last days of the flags era. Is it weird that there is a bouquet / flower feature on the desks behing George there.
Also did anyone for some reason think that George and Chris were related* or was that just me? Given that I paid less attention to the almost nonexistent astons.
*Yes I know from around 2009 it was Eykyn and Eakin but stil beforehand.

I don’t remember that version of the breakfiller either but I’ll have a guess that it was a blank background with the menu keyed over it from the Aston (it looks like the format used for programme menus of the time)
