No chance of paying him all that money and getting him in 1 hour a week. 1 hour a day in a debate format would probably do OK but wouldn’t set the world alight. It needs a fresh pair of eyes from an editorial perspective and I think murdoch has recognised that now.

Agree, but ratings wise I wonder if say a two hour show once a week (or twice if he need to make up his hours) might actually work better.   I can't see the appeal of watching Piers nightly, but I could somewhat see how it might work weekly, where he isn't just whinging to fill content but things might be a bit more considered and a bit better structured.    Also think a weekly show is more forgiving for building around the host and their guests whilst with a nightly show you expect it to follow the news agenda of the day, not the agenda of those behind the show.

I assume the addition of Jeremy Kyle will see them expand into the 10pm hour.   It's a shame the News Desk isn't doing better because that is the sort of format that they could repeat at points throughout the day to fill out the hours.

If the tv simulcast starts to affect TalkRadio's Rajar, then I really think they have to consider looking at either splitting the tv and radio output during the peak or operating the two outlets completely separate.

The News Desk for starters could be simulcast on Times Radio instead. The bulletin has brand values more associated with that radio station than with the culture wars led TalkRadio. The skill sets of Tom Newton Dunn and Kate McCann are more suited to that radio station than sharing an outlet with Jeremy Kyle, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan.

I think the issue with Saggers is that talkSPORT have sports rights for that timeslot most weeks. It could be argued that it could be simulcast on talkSPORT 2 and TalkTV (TV) with a radio show on TalkRadio.

Always very dangerous to build a channel around one person. At least GB News, for all their many shortcomings, haven't had the lack of foresight to put all their chips on Farage - which is outrating Morgan.

That 11pm repeat on radio is ridiculous.  Why bother getting someone in to do an hour show Mon Wednesday then James Whale doing 10-11, having an hour off and returning at midnight?  It's utterly crazy.
