Without an additional gallery team being added solely for the One, the duty NC gallery team would, at some point, have to relocate from E's gallery to B's gallery (which are on different floors) in a matter of minutes. As I said, maybe this will change when NC and WN merge, but it just isn't practical at the minute.

I was under the impression that any gallery could control any Studio?
You wouldn't be able to use the gallery to produce both the News Channel and The One simultaneously(edit).  I presume once the World News merge happens, they would not simulcast the UK bulletins anymore.

It’s been said on TVF before that this might have originally been the ambition when plans for NBH were being developed but is not the case - the main studios have their own galleries and cannot control other galleries. Likewise, Studio E’s gallery is (I believe) the only gallery that can control the newsroom trundle camera.

I'm not sure that anybody's lack of "desire" to do anything has any bearing on how the One is produced.
Write that down in your copybook now
I believe the original desire was to be able to control any studio from any gallery but that was beyond technology and budgets at the time so was dropped.

Am I right in thinking that the IP-based infrastructure in Cardiff Central Square does allow this (ie the technology is more mainstream / cheaper than early 2010s)?
Question
Hi Rob, will the launch forum for B open before the one show starts or before the 10 starts?
The new forum for TV discussion, TV Talk Forum
Website
I think it'll probably be during The One Show lepeterrr since that'll be when we see preview images.

It will open before The One Show starts.
I'm on Andover Radio every Saturday afternoon from 4pm-6pm. Follow me on Twitter.
Still amazed that with only a few hours before it airs we’ve still not had a single leaked image - with the exception of just one from Huw himself!
Do we know if the structure and format of the news bulletins will be changing with the move tonight? Punchier headlines, new segments, new presentation styles and over the shoulder graphics?

It is possible that any of these changes may have to wait until the full rebrand, if they need new headline beds and title styles - or even segment stings etc of course

I noticed the Weather is no longer billed as a separate programme on the EPG. Is it possible they're integrating it into the main bulletin, as they do at 6?

Huw strolling across the studio like Victoria Derbyshire used to do to open her show would be fancy.

Correct. Weather will now be contained within the 10pm bulletin. Which means nations no longer have have the option to drop the weather and a sore the extra 1”30 for their own bulletins.
Fitting to have Sophie Raworth present the final News at 6 from Studio E, since she also presented the first News at 1 from it, in 2013.

At least we know it’s significant enough of a change for it to be a segment on the one show -i.e, something the average viewer would probably notice.
