I believe there’s a lot of work to do before they even think about constructing a new set - remember it’s not going to be on air until spring.

It wouldn't surprise me if they consider going remotely controlled cameras with floor tracks as per studio B in NBC, rather than having manually operated cameras.  That would presumably take a reasonable amount of time to implement, and then eventually test.  Given that most of the time the presenters (Breakfast and sport) are sat down I can't imagine there would be much need for manually operated cameras in the studio during Breakfast.

Also, I wonder whether it'll take up the same amount of floor space before, or whether they might try extending the area slightly towards the windows to increase the width.

To be honest the current system is mostly remote heads with the bases positioned by the floor manager and the single operator who does both the Dolphin Arm and non-remote ped.
