Fantastic set up on Breakfast this morning to accommodate two studio guests. Actually looks better than the tired space the programme shares with North West Tonight.

If they get matching sofas throughout and maybe fix some glass type material so we can see the office but not hear the background noise that would be much better than the current studio.

I'd hate to remind you. Like I reminded people over on TV Forum when it comes to the whole "BBC Breakfast needs a new studio / set" debate. We (BBC North West Today / Tonight) need one first and should be prioritised over BBC Breakfast. We were there first and as this screencap from before the move to Media City shows. We once had a set the size of which could easily rival TC7 (BBC Breakfast's previous studio) in terms of stakes. So please everytime something like this comes up don't bring that bandwagon back. Thank you very much.

On second thoughts maybe BBC NWT could move into that spot, remove the BBC Breakfast disc for a BBC North West one and that solves the problem.

That area would be nice for North West Tonight but is too dark a view for Breakfast.
I suppose it would suffice as a temporary location if there was due to be a set changeover - but it’s definitely not a permanent location for Breakfast.

Akin to the old Paradise Street converted office in the old BBC Radio Merseyside base that was done in 2007 for the refurb for one of the shortest lived on air presentation lokks.

The moment I saw that this morning I said to myself "How long will it be before someone on TV Live Forum suggests they should do the programme from there full time?". Never disappoints.
No slight on these posters personally, but we get complaints that there aren't enough proper studios these days and shows like Morning Livve apparently have to squat in seemingly unsuitable converted office spaces, and then we get comments that they should do things like the election and Breakfast full-time in other office spaces.

Camera 6: manual camera on a Vinten Dolphin Arm does the floating shots of the sofa. Small LCD teleprompter.
The size of the studio means that you basically need 2 cameras, and 2 different types of camera at that.
a) There are robotic cameras between camera 1 and 6, and as far as I am aware there is very little space behind those cameras to allow for quick repositioning.
b) In other studios you could make do with just a single small Jimmy Jib which is capable of doing longer horizontal and vertical moves, and can often have a larger prompter unit rigged. It would be a tight fit in the Breakfast studio and hence you would need both a Dolphin Arm for the sofa moves plus a pedestal with a larger prompter for other things.

What is the difference between the full size teleprompter and the “small lcd” one other than just… size?
