It is just not a patch on their previous studio which IMO had one of the nicest sets of the last decade or so.

Its not a live shot. Its the same angled they used for the election coverage, sans the CBS ELECTION GRAPHICS that covered some of the billboards. This "new shot" was used to open the broadcasts and then apparently it went back to the frosted bay window look for the rest of the programme.
I still like it better than the horrible GMA set with the weird overly complicated corridor behind the anchors. Yesh. (Always hated ABC News sets)

They should have done that from the start, since I know why they don't want to use the real window view, so this is at least something.
