Never thought I’d have to type those words again in the topic line.

As the Taliban forces enter Kabul from all sides, rolling coverage and Breaking News from several outlets simultaneously.

The major news outlets have several correspondents on the ground. BBC World alone has three television correspondents and World Service numerous correspondents based/implanted temporarily.

I can virtually hear the voice of Sandy Gall.

Hearing from colleagues that the scenes at Kabul Airport are frantic, as thousands of people (diplomats and others) are trying to leave.
Would be a good time to bring Lyce Doucet back to the presenter chair.
I assume that there will be some form of contingency plans to evacuate foreign correspondents/journalists from Kabul
Sky News is the place to watch this. With Stewart Ramsey on the ground and Tim Marshall analyzing from home, you really don't need anyone else.
Yalda Hakim replacing Lukwesa Burak on the BBC at 11am in Studio E.

I wonder if broadcasters going to recall journalists? or very much a personal choice to stay and cover it?
Yalda is doing what she does best on the NC/BBC World News, she's always a strong presenter in fast moving situations like this
First time ever for Yalda in Studio E ever I think.
Great decision to bring Yalda in! Not only is she familiar with the region, she hails from Afghanistan.
Yalda has been great so far this morning. She was also a guest on 5 Live this morning - her skills and knowledge on the country is definitely being used across the BBC which is good to see.
Some brilliant journalism from Yalda this morning...

It is normally the case that correspondents will have been told they can leave but often they will choose to stay as long as they feel safe to do so.

Quite a rarity seeing Yalda presenting in Studio E headed by the NC team. I assume if there was no pandemic, they would have double headed presenters, where the current on duty NC presenter would be alongside Yalda.
Slightly (technically) shambolic interview with Taliban spokesperson which seems to be being conducted by Yalda holding a microphone up to a mobile phone on speakerphone.
Is the Taliban spokesperson on Yalda's personal phone right now? She's doing something with her stuff on the desk and trying to adjust the sound it seems. Quite a watch right now.
