I assume they’re going to have 2 presenters in for the late night shift then? And news channel is going to have to be in E while newsday is on world at 11pm.
World news also has it in the schedule for 1am but the news channel doesn’t does anyone know what one is correct?
What a disappointment. Single headed from Singapore and with such an underwhelming graphics package. The old graphics were far, far, far better.
Seems the news channel is also taking the 11pm bst edition. It is disappointing that it’s single headed but I actually quite like the new graphics and I’m glad they’ve kept the music.
They’re now doing a segment of headlines just for the UK which just seems odd IMO, I wish news channel had remained separate at 11pm and took the 12am and 1am editions.
Do we think this is the new style and ‘Globe’ titles for BBC News in general? I’m thinking that will no doubt come to BBC news channel when the BBC logo is launched on BBC News?
I like the re-launched Newsday. The co-host set up between London and Singapore always looked disjointed and the slight time delay made the jokes a little awkward. If BBC wanted to be brave they would have a co-host also in the Singapore studio, and then one of them could go on to host ABR.
I did wonder if the latest Singapore lockdown would have hampered the relaunch but it appears not.

Those graphics are such a retrograde step. The colours simply don't work in that studio. The old gold colouring worked so much better and the titles look much worse than before - looks like such a cheap effort.
Also the old gold interview boxes have gone - just plain white - which looks rather empty and bland.
Just awful.
The gold looked classy - this just looks tacky.
Based on the relaunch of Newsday and Outside Source it seems that any new strands are going for a similar visual style - rather than deviate so heavily from the core BBC News brand as they have done previously, we instead seem to be going for different graphical styles but very much rooted in red and grey across the board. Also seems that they're really going to be getting their money's worth out of split screens and over the shoulder graphics!
With regard to the specifics of the Newsday relaunch itself, whilst it's nice they've kept the old Newsday package they seem to have narrowed down the cuts they're using of it so that it's all a bit more repetitive. The intro string, headlines and start of the titles all use the same musical cue now, whereas before there was a distinct intro sting, headlines bong and title sequence.
I personally don't mind it all coming from Singapore but from a presentation perspective we do seem to be going backwards in time. Much like Outside Source, it looks like they're going for a single camera shot and then graphics to supplement the studio bits. I think this results in a bit of a lack of variety in camera shots and presentation points - ultimately fine but a bit bland!
IMO there is no need for that voiceover on top of the titles. Maybe it worked better before, when they were in 2 cities, but not now that it's basically a news bulletin from one studio like the rest of them.
I rather like it, apart from the different coloured 'D'.
I think it’s ok but sadly we are not going to see multi coloured Studio E in its former glory.
From that clip I think it looks really nice. I reakon that it will be double headed once NBH is fully staffed again.
Seems a bit odd that they used 'viewers in the UK and around the world' when introducing a programme aimed at the Asia Pacific area.
I do wonder if it was meant to be double headed but it’s been hampered by the ‘pingdemic’ we had Rebecca Jones who is on the papers shift this evening presenting 9-10pm which is unusual. Maybe once NBH goes back to near normality it will be from London and Singapore.
EDIT: Chris Cook has just confirmed on Twitter it will not return to being double headed anytime soon.

Those circle graphics over Karishma's shoulder look awful and tacky.
They have a nice big catwalk with big screens. Why not use it?!?!
