Given Ros has tweeted that show is returning "without the touchscreen" I guess this explains why the trundle cam has been out of action if they've been doing work to the balcony...
Trundle cam is not being used currently as one of the screens on the "hoop" dangling from the ceiling is broken and showing black. Last time repairs were needed they had to essentially close the newsroom for a weekend.
Must be quite easy to move people around the building at the moment given the current situation and fix the hoop.
Would be an ideal time to upgrade it.
I would imagine the people working in the newsroom on that floor are most likely to need to be close to either the studios or the galleries. For example the radio four news team presenting hourly bulletins. Moving them with reduced capacity needs some planning.

It really does depend. Take 6Music and Radio 2 for example. Getting back to the pre-Covid patterns, it was even the case then that the duty newsreader would work on scripts in Wogan House (literally running between floors in between bulls) and then an editor in the newsroom would approve/amend scripts as necessary with the tech operation supporting it over at Wogan.
I think this new update to OS has been excellent. It has a much more modern feel to the news programme when compared to it's launch in 2017. The music is probably the best part of the update for me.

I completely agree with you I'm also loving the OS updates feels much more fresher and the music really has helped that so much too. Love the music!

Edit: it actually looks like they’re doing newsday studio preparation in C tonight, you can see it on the screens in the newsroom.
I hope they can relaunch Live with… safely as well, it gets rid of that completely irrelevant simulcast at 10am bst, today it was on about Batley and Spen to world viewers, like they would be interested lol.
I wonder if 9pm UKT Will be World News Today with Christian Fraser (Mon-Thu) and Philippa Thomas (Fri-Sun), with the type of stories you see on B100D?

Probably keep Fri-Sun as it is now, though a regular presenter would be good
