Now, BBC World News, that comes out of NBH C is all in English - do they have a facility to have different languages broadcasted to all the different countries in the world? or is there just one singular World News channel that goes out all around the world, with the exception of subtitles for the different languages?
any insight would be appreciated !
BBC World News is broadcast in English, which all presenters/correspondents are expected to be native standard in.
That said, the BBC broadcasts in over 58 different languages - taking a variety of forms, from continual radio broadcast through to televised news summaries. The reach of the BBC World Service and the dependent language offerings is truly amazing.
For many years, certain World News programmes and many back-half hours were translated into Japanese (the news ones, done live). I don’t think that happens anymore.
Don't forget there are other BBC News channels such as
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_Persian_Television
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_News_Arabic
As well as other media platforms which may not have a full channel but produce a website and content for other platforms like YouTube etc.
https://www.youtube.com/user/BBCRussian
https://www.bbc.com/burmese
Obviously some of these are funded differently than the main BBC News world channel. But most people in the UK don't even know they exist!

Quote:The list of services to be expanded using the funding include enhanced TV services for Africa, new radio services for audiences in North Korea and radio and digital services for Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Details of which languages the BBC will broadcast in to Ethiopia and Eritrea will be announced later.
The BBC will also expand TV, radio and digital offerings in Somalia, India, Nigeria and Thailand.
A TV service will be added to the existing service for Somalia.
For Nigeria, a digital service will be started in Pidgin and Yoruba.
"Pidgin is a popular language among young people in Nigeria and across West Africa," said Liliane Landor, controller of languages at the World Service.
It will also help boost digital and TV services for Russian speakers, both in Russia and the surrounding communities.
This was in 2015 but I believe it all did happen and the funding was recently renewed.

I'm not sure about the other services (I presume they are the same) but I believe the Burmese Service 15 minute TV bulletin is broadcast on AsiaSat

I'm not too sure to be honest with you, BBC Urdu for example seems to broadcast out of NBH and BBC bureau overseas. I'd imagine it will be the same setup for other services.
Main services like BBC News Arabic are broadcast like any TV channel, at least according to wiki.

Not forgetting some countries don't want their people to watch or listen to The BBC so they may not be able to actually broadcast in the country! China being the most recent example.

BBC Urdu was on Aaj News in Pakistan but they scrapped the broadcast because Aaj TV stopped airing the programme for several times.
By the way they regularly used a mashup of the sombre countdown and the London Olympics version theme as breakfiller.
Do any proper break fillers still exist on any feeds?

The nearest to a break filler is probably On This Day in History which the news gallery transmit during xx15 breaks.
Katty Kay leaving? That’s sad news.

They have great chemistry. Guess Laura Trevalyn will replace.
