The 4th image in the ITV News West Country ("east" sub-region) title sequence has today been changed to an aerial view of Cheddar Gorge.

Since the current title sequence debuted in 2013, the 4th image had previously been footage of a chassis on the production line of the Honda factory in Swindon. The factory's closure of was announced today, and was on the news agenda within the programme.

All of the other images remain unchanged. Including the 7th one, which is a toddler by the the water features in Bristol's millennium square with the planetarium in the background. He must be Secondary School age by now!

Meridian's Thames Valley titles also use(d) the Honda production line image (as the 2nd image). Swindon being an overlap zone between the Mendip TX and Beckley (Oxford) TX. I wonder whether they've also replaced it, and - if so - with what?

I'm impressed that you noticed such a minor change! Smile

The Uffington White Horse in SW Oxfordshire would be good, as it's towards the Swindon corner of the sub-region.
Beautiful landmark, good choice too

I wonder why West Country doesn't use the 'Cerne Abbas Giant' in Dorset during its title sequence? Big Grin Big Grin

I'm now thinking about the strategically-placed BBC One hot air balloon over that landmark...

I thought that did feature in the titles of either West Country Bristol or one of the Meridian Titles.
Itv westcountry appear to have replaced their caption straps with a non branded white bar with a teal block on the left hand end which wipes on and off. A step backwards. No reference to itv news westcountry at all.

They used a mix of the standard captions and this.

They scream temporary / backup to me. I caught the weather to the end of the West Country (South West) programme and they used the usual name graphic for the weatherman Charlie Powell.

Perhaps there was a technical issue when they were putting the reports together, and somebody quickly put together this 'new' style of graphic.
