Ian Fergusson has a new tv for the weather as seen on the Points West late bulletin this evening
On Points West they have let Ian the weather man back in to the studio after 10 years on the roof and he has a massive new standalone screen!
The studio is far more nicer now
I guess it was always the plan to get Ian back into the studio following the removal of the desk area.
The studio does look better than it did, but it really is quite astonishing that there isn’t the money or urgency to get a new set after over 11 years and they just go for new lights and a few large screens on wheels.
Given Ian’s comments that the weather shack will remain to be his weather office, it does definitely highlight how much the BBC need a new HQ in Bristol if there’s no spare office space for the weatherman who has to go about his day-to-day work in a shed on top of the roof. I suspect that’s more likely to happen given the old set isn’t showing signs of going anywhere.
Would a potentially new set just be like the old set?. a sofa and a fake newsroom backdrop?. Or they could go for a Bristol harbour backdrop
Today's lunchtime Points West bulletin featured the presenters manky hairbrush on the table. Lovely.
Kylie Pentelow hasn’t been on itv news Westcountry lately
Perhaps she’s on annual leave, to be fair I thought she changed her hair style then realised it wasn’t her ??
Apparently she's on sick leave due to a similar insomnia issue Tom Bradby had a couple of years ago. Kylie did mention on Twitter that she was reducing her hours to not presenting lates because of this and was aware of her own mental health.
