I won't be so bold as to suggest the camera was lowered in response to audience feedback (!), but whatever's happened I do prefer the minor tweak which has altered the angle of the weather screen tonight.

I suspect hardly anyone else has noticed, but I do think it looks better!

A small query, but is the red box on the front of the desk a lightbox? I assume it is, as I haven't seen it used differently, but it's just very evenly lit for a lightbox of that size - none of the tell-tale signs of a lightbox.

I did wonder if it could be a curved LED panel, but it'd be odd to just use that for just plain red. But then it is fairly matte black in the off-air pictures (like the videowalls) rather than glossy (like the lightboxes and rostrum borders).

If it is a lightbox, I'm very impressed with the evenness of the colour. The only other lightbox I can recall being that 'flat' is the front of the desk in N6 (and that wasn't really a lightbox).

Isn't that just a sight tweak so the eyeline is better for a shorter weather presenter?

You are in some degree of luck, I had just started doing a basic net model of the new set yesterday. Here it is, with the old plans overlayed in blue. Worth noting that neither net model is finished (and there are some lines there that are purely for construction purposes), but the basic placement and dimensions are all there.
