Really sorry to hear this Rob, I’ve really enjoyed reading some interesting threads on here and also taking part, but have also had some rude comments from some, so can see why for your own sanity you’ve decided to close it, it’s a real shame as get a good insight from people on aspects of tv pres and even the technical side which I enjoy reading about.
Good luck for the future Rob and never let the Internet take over your mental health.
I might not post all that often, but this site is one of the first sites that I check on a morning and it's one of the 7 tiles that my browser offers up as my most visited sites.
Genuinely, Rob, thank you for filling the gap that TVForum left and allowing me to geek out on stuff that nobody I know even cares about.

To be honest Rob, you should just be a bit more selfish and pull the plug now. Right now. It's clearly doing you a mischief. When the love goes out of something, that's it. That's the time to walk away.
I would seriously look at handing the site over to the other mods, but I can appreciate the TV Live branding is an issue. If it can be "divorced" from that in some way that may be a route to take. And of course the other mods have to want to take it on.

Secondly, the other day, Someone trolled me saying they had the new BBC brand guide, and I fell for it.
If the forum's closing, I might as well let some steam out.

Either way, on a hypothetical, if ip addresses are registered on the system, this could be used to report to either the police and /or their Internet service providers, as there could be a potential breach of the computer misuse act.
Especially, as it has had a detrimental impact on your health.

The moderators (and Pete as well) don't want the hassle of taking it on.
Closing on Sunday gives everyone a chance to tie-up loose ends.
There is nothing special planned for the closure when it happens, it will just close.
Whilst it would be incorrect to name and shame... Is there a specific part of the forum this hassle is occurring in? I've not seen it, so I wonder if it's maybe a certain topic causing it which may be useful to know for any future forums.

I’m so sorry to hear what you are going through Rob, and I’m sending you my love and good wishes. Your mental health has to take priority and I think you’ve made the right decision, which will hopefully help you in the long term.
Can I just say Thank you very much to Rob, if you need to chat before the site closes then just message me. Also Mental health is very important so if you even feel you need to close the site before Sunday then please do so, these people are not worth it and your mental wellbeing needs to come first.
I hope these people who have been nasty to you will be put to shame one day and if they continue with this after the site closes I hope you will get the police involved.
Thank you again Rob, I know I haven't posted a huge amount but this site has been a wonderful successor to the old site.

I'm really sad, Rob, that you felt you had no other option but to bring closure forward by a month. It obviously goes without saying that the abuse and hassle you are receiving is appalling, and I'm really sorry you have to deal with it. Some people really are pathetic. But anyway... I think you should be proud of yourself for what you achieved in just 15 months. It's been a great site and I'm glad that it's staying up as an archive, much like TV Forum did. Maybe we'll all meet again, maybe we won't - to be honest, I don't think there's anywhere near as much to discuss, TV presentation-wise, as there was 15, 10, or even 5 years ago.
Most likely be one of my final posts here (I'll probably post a few more if needed) but wanna thank everyone here for being such a wonderful community. I will consider where to go next over the next few days. I may join TV Talk on a temporary basis and see what Clean Feed has to announce. I'll go wherever the majority goes.

I think there will be a split of users, some will go "here", some will go "there". I don't think the TV forum "spirit" will exist again after Sunday like it has done for 20 or so years. It was good to be part of it at different stages of my life. Several people have announced they are starting their own forums, so like a political party split, it's probably going to get messy with people going all over the place and nobody really getting a strong foundation formed. I am not going to register anywhere. I think I am done with the internet, I have no social media accounts and hardly ever post on the internet, this place which I post every now and then, a blu ray . com and local newspaper website were the only places. This is a landmark moment in the timeline of TV forums UK wise. Indeed it is the end. Let us mourn and have a drink on Sunday. That's what I am going to do, just talk about this stuff down the pub, who needs a forum?! To quote Mr Data in regards to television. "That particular form of entertainment did not last long beyond the year 2040". We don't have long to go. I think 2030 is more likely. The world changes, people move on. Yes, it truly is the end of an era. This time round no obvious successor has appeared and I feel is unlikely to do so.
There is a certain poetry about it, as this week a television institution comes to a close in Neighbours, a programme that's probably older than many of the membership. We have waited all this time for a home Eurovision, and now it comes only for our home to discuss the intricacies of how the BBC will handle this event to close.
There will be people here who were not even born when Asa started the original forum.
This genuinely feels like it.
