Oh yes please do, that will be appreciated!

Rob you did a great job with TVLF since it launched last year and it has been an honor to be one of the longest serving members. What a ride! Best of luck with whatever you do in the future.

I concur with what everybody says, sorry to hear you're suffering mentally Rob, either from just managing the site or from other outside matters.

Joining a public forum for the first time, I had a nice time staying in this purple place, talking to people that share the same niche interests as I do.

Despite the short time, I believe it's been a fun ride for everyone here. Thank you so much for your efforts and please, take care.

Best wishes from Hong Kong,
W. Knight.
Now on TVTalk, Pres Café and DeviantArt. Goodbye to all that, TVLF.

Bloody hell! What a horrible piece of news. For what its worth Rob I totally understand your decision. I have no idea what it’s like to run a forum but as a member of other forums I’ve experienced first hand the f***wittery of some people.

As some of you know i was Ne1L C on TV Forum and was forced to leave a few months before it closed because of the bullying and sycophancy i was forced to endure.

When TVLF opened I expressed a wish that the poison that had in my opinion killed TVF wasn’t brought over here and for a while that seemed the case. However sadly I noticed that some C U Next Tuesdays had started to spread venom.

I don’t wish to sound like a t**t but I feel that if a similar forum were started it would inevitably attract the brainless minority again.

TVLF has helped me through a very rough period in my life and I’ll be eternally grateful.

(Yes I know this post is spicy but I’m speaking from the heart)

Sad to hear that TV Live Forum is closing, I joined TV Forum at the tail end of its existence and was among one of the original members on here. Best of luck to Rob and the staff on here for the future.

Although it's not the same, there is an International TV Thread on the Anime Superhero Forums which has been running since 2014, plus international threads for streaming services in the (General) Entertainment forum, and anyone is welcome to join: https://animesuperhero.com/forums/thread...d.5413381/

I'll also keep working on my Audiovisual Research Wiki, I have a big page coming up on Disney Channel UK and it's almost finished: https://regularcapital-audiovisual-resea...earch_Wiki

I think we can all agree the forum closing is very sad news, but it's certainly not the worst thing about this situation (although I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do during the working day now - might actually have to do my job *shudders*).

The fact that you set up this place out of the good of your own heart and worked all hours to make sure that we all had somewhere to go after TVF closed, and despite this some people were still abusive, ungrateful bullies who expected the world. And the worst thing is these people will never understand or comprehend the damage they have done to you, Rob, or the fact this place closing is on them.

I am glad you are taking time to focus on you Rob and if that means the closure of the forum, then well so be it. I just hope that it doesn't put you off still having involvement in the TV presentation landscape.

One reminder that we can take from this is that the majority of us do not have to wake up and live our lives as the bullies and abusers that Rob has sadly encountered over the past year and a bit - and quite frankly that is worth celebrating.

I'll try to write similar things t I stated on Animesuperhero, since, as RegularCapital, I also belong there, in addition to "Italian" Digital-Forum.

: Sad to hear that, but eventually forums tend to attract certain peculiar personalities.

I'm not a fan of forums mostly, especially managing them would be hell-on-Earth; the worst are "opinion" forums, loads of very opinionated, harsh and "manipulative" people.
TVLive forum has its share of problems, but I enjoy reading information about presentation etc. which is probably what I'll miss

But yeah, it's not exempt from strange personalities, sadly

Best wishes, Rob anyway Smile

Rob I am so sorry to hear this news and how your wellbeing has been affected. I rarely post on the site but read other's contributions with (mostly!) interest. I will miss the site when it has gone but fully understand your reasons. FWIW I very loosely know one individual that has given you grief in another capacity and can confidently say most people go out of their way to avoid them in real life. I wish you all the best for the future.

So sorry Rob. No one deserves to have their mental health affected.

And another one bites the dust.

I have never been around often on both TV Forum and TV Live Forum, but I can fully understand why you've made the decision to close. It can be a struggle managing a forum with those types of... people.

Farewell Rob and the TV Live Forum. And please don't forget to switch off your television set. (I had only just realized now you already did that joke aagh I'm embarrassed now)

Really sorry to hear this, but be in no doubt that you have made the right decision - your own wellbeing is the most important thing.

I for one have been amazed at the time and effort you have put in here, and will miss it, but other things are much more important.

I guessed this might be the case after seeing Robs Tweet last night. Disappointing to see another forum close. Although my attachment to this one is a lot less than the blue one it was still somewhere I spend many hours on and the culture had started to bed in nicely after the initial upheaval.

It's especially disappointing as it's all because of a few idiots. Why the hell is Rob getting abuse over this nice friendly forum about a fairly inocculous subject? What on earth were you thinking?

Let's hope we can set up an alternative without all these issues. Maybe a different approach is needed, more focused possibly, or with a few different replacements based on different aspects of what we talk about to split the work and the agro up.

Sorry about your mental health Rob. I am sad to see this forum close after just 1 and a bit years, but I'm glad you are putting health first. I might even move my BBC mock to whatever new forum has a gallery. I am also working on a farewell video to put in this forum's gallery too using Blender, which involves my own TV Live Forum logos based on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 logos.

Yes, I'd appreciate that too but I'm worried that the absolute wankers who mercilessly hurt Rob so bad will find these and wreak even more havoc...

I'm very sorry to hear of Rob's mental health issues, caused by some people on the forum, and his decision to close it is understandable. I know above someone mentioned starting a new forum up, but with a different approach. I'm in a group called the "Railway Modellers Club", run by the Truro based company Scale Model Scenery. It's a very friendly place, so whoever wants to take this, unenviable task on, of replacing this forum, perhaps contact SMS for hints and tips on how to make it a friendly place.

Rob your health is more important than anything and your decision totally understandable. i for one have enjoyed reading the posts on the forum and appreciated the way you ran this forum. It is a shame that a few people have can ruin things. Thank you for your hard work. Good luck going forward
