Stop being so miserable! The press heckling Ministers going into and out of No 10 was intended to add a bit of interest to packaged reports, and history shows the Ministers sometimes do reply. 
 
Most famous for this was 'Gobby' Paul Lambert who explained: "The point really is to fill in the pieces of the TV bulletin piece that you haven't got pictures to fill in. You know someone isn't going to say anything, you just need something to happen."

One of my favourites was him being cheeky to George Osborne, who was trying to deflect the fact the hadn't met his deficit reduction targets... Video below: Link

Lambert died in 2020, and even Osborne ended up paying tribute saying he was "one of the best".

It adds no interest whatsoever, it's just irritating for the viewer.

If politicians want to comment, they do it elsewhere in consultation with whoever runs their media circus.

One thing that has annoyed me for years is TV reporters standing in Downing Street shouting out questions to Ministers as they walk towards the door of No.10.

They know that nobody will ever answer them, so it comes across as rather pointless if it's just for the people watching their particular channel.  It doesn't look or sound very professional.

I've noticed this morning that BBC Breakfast are running with an odd mix of branding:

• Standard orange Breakfast titles/headlines
  
• Standard red BBC News lower thirds & 'Live' bug.

I presume BBC Wales Today was quite busy after the 10 when Chris Mason broke the story on the Sectarary for Wales resignation in Downing St last night. Did BBC Wales have an extended bulletin for this story or did they run it at normal length?

I was watching Declan Harvey doing the Newsline summary after the 10 and than Peston afterwards on ITV last night.

I get the impression that Secretary for Wales is a bit of a non job with everything of importance devolved to the Assembly, so probably not worthy of much coverage, particularly in the circumstances of it not being one of dozens

I saw the Six on WN and if the resignations keep going to they’re going to have to start a list and drop the pictures akin to how Rachel Maddow did with the over 50 Trump resignations.. It got to be so many that they eventually took up two walls.

Though of course those resignations were over the course of 2 years, we've had them over 2 days

Not too unusual, Breakfast have long used the standard breaking news lower thirds when required, going back through several graphics packages. Probably more noticable today because with developments every few minutes, it's on screen most of the morning.

The red live graphic is no different to any other morning.

Indeed and in any case I imagine every region ran with the political story as their top story last night due to at least one of the ministers that have resigned coming from your region. Plus the opportunity to vox pop people on their opinions on it all in your region.

Look North Yorkshire and Calendar claim Richmond as part of the region when Rishi Sunak is in the news, but I’m not sure you can even receive these programmes there

I think the same probably applies to 'SoS for Scotland', but not necessarily 'SoS for Northern Ireland' for different reasons.

As an aside #Steve in Pudsey, I thank you for the posting of the Tweet of Larry sat at the door, and the shout from the media.  It's the exception that proves the rule, of course.
