Nothing is going to happen, the media are wasting their time. As they have done so on a number of occasions previously. Unless this is part of an election, which is the only outcome Boris will play with.

Doesn't look like anythings going to happen to Boris tonight. Lots of places reporting that he won't resign and will fight a no confidence vote. 

Expect some more resignations tonight (presumably from those who've been in to tell him to) and a reshuffle, tomorrow. Though considering how many people have resigned from government that could well take a while, if there's indeed anyone left to take the jobs

Interestingly it seems BBC World News is now showing Focus on Africa in some parts of the World but I’m still seeing Huw Edwards on BBC World News here in Ireland.

I still haven’t found that channel I’d love to see how focus on Africa looks like away from studio c.

If nothing happens the cabinet will resign in significant numbers, and then something will absolutely be happening.

It should be happening now, he has said he is not going. Still the media point their cameras at an empty lawn. Boris will simply replace them, he only needs a handful to support him. The media will be better off going home and coming back on Tuesday morning when the possibility of the vote exists.

There will presumably be some more and bigger names. The cabinet ministers who have been in with him trying to persuade him to go can't continue in their jobs surely?

I seem to have recollections here of the news situation following the 2010 election, which certainly ran for many days with the news channels trying to keep up the momentum.

During that time there was plenty of speculation and permutations of the possible coalition outcomes.

Exciting times for news junkies and pres geeks alike.

This feels very 1990. Blair to Brown was a long planned deal, Cameron resigning arguably got somewhat lost in the referendum fallout and even May going was pretty smooth compared to the theatre we've seen in the last 24 hours.

Usually broadcasting veterans would have a pretty good idea of how this sort of scenario plays out conventionally and the relevant timescale, but when conventional is not followed all bets are off.
