When the Rugby Championship starts you will usually hear the host broadcaster (English) commentary for games in SA, NZ, and Australia - for games in Argentina you usually get the opposing country’s commentary.

India's cricket team in the country so sony six go to their effort of putting in their own broadcast package, as well as the graphics looks like their own commentary as well, but its using sky's replay graphics yet it seams seemless, so maybe Sky are outputting a feed for Sony as well and sent via fibre?

Exactly how you'd expect.  They have years of experience in dealing with such things - it's part of the course with F1.

Holy Jesus. I am just seeing the pictures of Zhou Ghanyu's accident. His car nearly went into one of the stands containing lots of fans at Turn 1. He is now OK having been extracted from the car by the medics and conscious. Alex Albion was also involved in that crash as well. But we know that he is also concoius. Zhou Ghanyu has been taken out of his car while being on a stretcher. So that is good news.

Lee McKenzie, Eddie Jordan and Billy Monger are giving their assessment of Zhou's accident on Channel 4.

The next African Cup of Nations will be held in January 2024 not June 2023 as planned. Reduces the attractiveness of it slightly for broadcasters being next June would have been a quiet month.

The post-match part of tonight's Euro 2022 coverage is being switched over to BBC Two so that the news can start at 22:00 instead of the scheduled 22:15, obviously due to it being such an important news day.

Coverage also starting 10 minutes later because of the News at 6 being extended.

I get wanting to start the news on time but the red button probably would suffice for the post-match rather than disrupting BBC2.

It looks like they've taken 15 minutes off the start and added it to the end - which feels like a fairly pragmatic solution.

Great to hear George Hamilton back on commentary for RTE for the opening game of the Women’s Euros, it seems to have been ages since he was last on.

I see the (mens) Euro 2008 theme (latterly used for the Super Cup and centralised friendlies) has been wheeled out again for this tournament.

He was on Ireland U21 v Bosnia U21 at the start of June and the last Ireland Women's World Cup Qualifier but that is the only football he has commentated on for RTE in 2022.  According to ICDB since the Euro 2020 final last summer between England & Italy he has only commentated on;
* 2 Republic of Ireland Men's Team Matches
* 2 Republic of Ireland U21 Men's Team Matches
* 2 Republic of Ireland Women's Team Matches
* 1 UEFA Champions League match (Atletico v Liverpool back in October 2021)

Far cry from when he was on nearly every match RTE covered and even cropped up on Rugby Union. This year seen Des Curran, Darragh Maloney (moving away from the presenters chair and back to the commentary box) replace his previous Rugby and Football roles.
