Wimbledon 2022
Has Clare Balding even had to do any out-of-vision continuity tonight?
Yes, she's just appeared.
And she has been there since 13.30 as she appeared during the centennial celebrations ceremony.

I think it’s surely time for rethink of Today at Wimbledon and it’s scheduling.
Definitely at least 4 sets now, so I can see this match going on until 11, and having to be finished tomorrow. Going to be hard to see them getting through 2 sets in 90 minutes unless it's a 6-0 wipeout or similar.

And with two Men’s matches on centre tomorrow it could be a late finish again tomorrow if they don’t start until 1.30 and have to finish this match off as well.

You were saying?
Think it's been at least a 9.30pm finish every night but sods law probably dictates if they schedule 7-10pm on BBC1 next year they'd wrap up by 8pm each night.
@Brekkietweets
They could always shove on episodes of Schedule... sorry... Garden Rescue.
Away
Today at Wimbledon should really be moved to after the 10 o'clock news, or renamed Yesterday At Wimbledon and shown before the next day's start of play. At least then it would be guaranteed to be on.

Also, all other programmes scheduled except for EastEnders (which they stuck on iPlayer early) should be repeats, so that pre-emptions due to the overrunning sport won't matter.
We’re now onto Day 8 of Clare Balding almost solely being a continuity announcer during this Wimbledon, just heard her first OOV link of the evening

Supposedly Today at Wimbledon will make it on air tonight, but I have my doubts at this point
Here is a summary of how Today at Wimbledon has faired over the first 8 days of the championships

Monday 27 - didn’t air
Tuesday 28 - didn’t air
Wednesday 29 - Shorter and later than billed 22:00-22:30
Thursday 30 - Shorter and later than billed 22:00-22:30
Friday 1 - 20:30-21:30
Saturday 2 - didn’t air
Sunday 3 - didn’t air
Monday 4 - shorter 21:05-21:30
Basically only once on time and full length, not a good record!
The Aussies getting just as annoyed by switching matches as we do. Here it was the early BBC2 game but abandoned it as the pivotal moment in the third set to switch to the opening games on Centre (before that switched to BBC2), with BBC2 then going to Court 1 rather than returning to it, although it was picked up again in the 5th set. https://tvtonight.com.au/2022/07/tennis-...match.html

I don’t understand why they can’t broadcast Today At Wimbledon on iPlayer? Surely it’s better that it exists somewhere rather than nowhere… I get that the BBC want to focus on showing the live matches on One in prime time but having a roundup show for Wimbledon is important for those who can’t watch all day everyday.

This is pretty mad. There's no reason why it can't go out even while a game is still in play on iPlayer and Red Button
