I think they've settled in nicely Very enjoyable that no one bulletin is the same as another in terms of presentation. Would love to see Fiona in there and naturally Clive when he returns from vacation.

I wonder how they'll do things when BBC London moves to Studio B.

I suppose there'll have to keep at least one of the various presentation areas out of shot at the very end of the network bulletin to allow the London presenter to get into position there during the weather forecast.

We'll then have the odd situation that the "video wall" backdrop for the throw to nations & regions will include a shot of another part of the same studio/set.

Like many bulletins, I'd imagine they'll pre-record the BBC London headlines + titles at around 5/5:30pm. Then the Six/Ten team will have a minute or two to clear-off and let the BBC London presenter get into place. Remember the set servers (or Ravens now), may need to be reloaded for a BBC London scene.

They are mixing it up abit doing different things with different presenters, which is good seems to be they are fitting it around with what the presenter feels comfortable with, or is it they are seeing what reactions they get from the viewer with what works and what doesn’t with the presentation of each program on the 6 & 10?

I would hazard a guess to it being a combo platter of the two. What the presenter is comfortable with on the one hand and what the viewer is more responsive to on the other.

Plus when people see certain presenters command the studio in a way as Huw commanded it in the first showing the expectation from the viewers would probably be that the whole set is going to be used. If it is someone who is more comfortable with the desk as the main driver from a presentation point of view, the viewer would instantly know that it wouldn't be used in the same way.

I may be conjecturing but that is my view.

That's a good point.  Hadn't even crossed my mind London might have a different backdrop on the screens.

There was also no opening shot at the beginning of the bulletin just held on the titles a bit longer then cut to Sophie sitting at the desk.

When was it announced that BBC London would be moving into B with the Six and Ten?

Presumably like ITV News, this will save on gallery costs if the same team is on the Six/Ten then London.

Seems Sophie has refused to do the walk over to the screens, given she is the only one who hasn't done it yet. She does wear high heels though so it may be a safety issue.

I'm sure she manages to perambulate everywhere else without feeling 'unsafe', otherwise she wouldn't wear them.  Perhaps, like me, she just thinks it's a meaningless stunt to wander around the studio while reading the news.

She’s done it plenty of times. They’re just trying different things. It also might be that it wasn’t an option last night perhaps due to technical reasons. I’m not sure she’s in any position to ‘refuse’ to do anything.
