Ireland AM had a graphics refresh after coming back from the May Bank Holiday.

Ireland AM still using "Capital Life" as the theme tune 23 years on.

Probably fair to say that not many people in Ireland who aren't TV enthusiasts will be aware that it's a library piece that was also used for the final run of The Time, The Place...

And as far as breakfast TV themes go, while obviously it's nowhere near as memorable as Jeff Wayne's or George Fenton's compositions, it has lasted longer than all the versions of the GMTV theme and the Daybreak themes combined.

Tonight’s Late Late Show celebrating the 60th anniversary, a bit of a quieter affair than the 50th but a bit of stuff for pres fans at the start with a Telefis Eireann ident and clips from old title sequences.

Was actually quite surprised by how low key and quiet the whole affair was. Obviously during the 50th, the three (then) living hosts of the show were all part of it, but with Gaybo no longer with us, and Pat only cropping up every few years on the Late Late again since he isn't with RTÉ as he was in 2012, it might've been a bit much to ask for. At least it was acknowledged in some manner, but it's a significant one. RTÉ love a clip show...why not a 60 YEARS OF THE LATE LATE type of thing? Bit late now anyway!

There are, as always, the rumours floating about of how long will Tubridy continue to do the show for. He's said in some interviews that he has other things he wants to do, he doesn't want to do the job forever etc etc, but one wonders if he is just bluffing. The successor isn't as clear as it might've been back when he took over, so would RTÉ bend over backwards to keep him...especially if he is now (cringingly) making a massive year long song and dance about the Toy Show and being The Toy Man...

A slightly bizzare ending to the 1:25pm weather forecast on RTE One today as Helen Curran and her map were turned into what I understand to be Minecraft world to promote the final of “Ireland’s Future is Mine”.

Isn't the 60th anniversary of The Late Late Show in July? So possibly RTE might have an archive clip show with interviews with previous guests etc to air around July 6th, which is its actual anniversary date?

Well known RTÉ Gardening presenter and RTÉ Guide Gardening contributor Dermot O'Neill has died aged 58. He died suddenly in St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin last night.

Looks remarkably like Gill Sans and thus the BBC Four logo, than the more bolder font used for the other VMTV logos.

Mentioned in passing by the sales people during a presentation to advertisers on the 29th June and since spotted by some eagle eyes. Apparently VMTV Two will get a slight refocus too.

I’m not sure they meant to go public with it at this point (they shouldn’t have put their presentation on the open internet so!) and it’s odd the sales wing got to announce it before the content side but maybe we’ll hear more later in the summer when the autumn schedule announcements happen.
